OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

Granted they are all out of stock at the moment, but it would appear the big US retailers are still listing the four MSRP models we had here, at the US MSRP, and they apparently didn’t have any sort of "only the first few hundred in a rebate" nonsense.

So why do we in the UK?

Seems like we've got some sort of bizarre £60 tax being added on for no reason..
I'd wait and see what price they actually are when in stock, pricing it when it's not in stock means nothing right

Didn't the AMD guy, forgot his name say they would continue MSRP for a bit, limited to regions and countries...so UK may not be one of them they are rebating.

Possibly, but I don't believe those retailers had only a tiny amount at MSRP. As far as i have heard/read, they sold all the stock they had of those cards at the MSRP $599.

Then what is the reason for us paying £60 more :/

If AMD really wants to increase the mkt share the prices will go down and the supply should be plenty, £600-700 isn't the price bracket they can really shift in high volumes long term, especially they are supposedly going to focus on mid range only.

AMD is a huge, global reach maker, the world market isn't limited to Western Europe, US, Canada and Australia, the product must appeal to other huge markets like China, Brasil, Eastern Europe where £700 won't get them far but £500 would.

Message from DPD and OCUK earlier today, my Asrock Steel Legend XT is on it's way to my local hub, delivery on Monday. I ordered yesterday morning just after 11am

Now I just need to work out the best way to swap from Green to red. Download AMD latest drivers, uninstall Nvidia drivers & GeForce experience, when prompted to reboot don't and shut down instead. Remove card, insert card, power up, install drivers? As I have a X570 is there anything I need to do in the BIOS? Some sites say there may be something I couldn't use with nvidia? Fingers crossed my Gen 4 riser is OK and my 180' Power connectors are good. And that my 650w PSU, that's never missed a beat with the 3080, continues to work OK.

Bang on, if you aren't already using DDU (which should be a last resort ideally), and encounter any issues use DDU to totally wipe any and all remnants of nvidia drivers from your PC before finally reinstalling AMD drivers.

Use DDU ( Display driver uninstaller ). I didnt use it the first time around and i couldnt get it to post from the graphics card or the mobo HDMI slot so had to pop my 2070 back in and run the DDU and it worked just fine after that

My Thursday evening order didn't ship, Gigabyte OC, anyone else in the same boat? Seen some Friday orders have been shipped.
