** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

Same here. I am interested in EVGA FTW or Classified, however, I will wait for the reviews to start coming in before buying. I understand that EKWB will not have water blocks until the end of July/August so a few more weeks wait.

just wait a little longer as you will get first batch. many people that swap out to other cards they wouldn't get first batch anyway.

I might be inclined to wait just a bit if you are at the head of the queue :)

Well thus far Ben @ EVGA has evaded the question of why the US are getting shipments and we aren't, alongside telling people that they haven't started manufacturing them yet (which can't be the case if they are being shipped to the US!). Please do correct me if wrong on this point.

I'm not sure EVGA deserve my money tbh, this is a bit of a shambles. I still have no real clue if/when we may get the card, but it sounds like it's about 2 weeks away.

I have next week booked off work, I was wanting to plug in my 1080 and play some Witcher 3 on it, but it's sounding less likely by the day.

I just wish we had some concrete information from day 1 on when we'd be receiving our cards (FTW's in this case) from EVGA.

Another retailer says 22nd July for FTW. This is getting stupid now. I can't do this anymore. If that's the case I'll move my preorder to another GPU. I will never buy EVGA again.

none of them will as they know it will effect pre orders for a lot of people who just cant wait, although would be interesting if the issue is gpu's being delivered to asus, evega etx from nvidia or if its them simply unable to make enough cards fast enough.

Would be interesting to see how many people buying on release actually need a card right now and who just wants to be amongst the first to own one for epeen/shiny shiny reasons.

Surely if you already own a card that works at your res then a few weeks/month waiting won't hurt to see how things pan out price wise and performance wise.

I have no GPU at all. I'm on intel graphics. I need card asap

Thats the problem, EVGA Ben started off saying it was the cores coming from Nvidia, now he's saying its custom boards take time, but there are plenty of reference boards coming through and even custom boards from other board makers, Asus seem to be having a problem getting enough cores that hit their top OC at the volts and temps they want, but EVGA just seem to have gone completely awol.

If he had said mid July in the first place I never would have ordered and would probably already have one of the cards that hve already had first batches come through.

Get on the Gigabyte G1 Si, you won't be disappointed.

My next choice would be Asus Strix, but even they don't have enough to go around. I just returned a Acer X34a so I have no monitor either, Not gaming at all so I will wait a week and when I receive my x34 back I'll get something. so might call OCUK and ask when the Strix will be available.

I am running a 670GTX with a 4k monitor, I needs me an upgrade!

It has coped with older games; now Total War and Doom etc are out it can't...

same as me, hence im waiting on the 480's to see if its worth maybe going sli with them over a 1080. was going till wait till then anyways but these shifting dates are rather worrying.

I've not really paid much attention to this thread to be honest. So what's the latest on the FTW? I believed it was for tomorrow?

I'm in no rush like, just thought I would ask instead of trawling through loads of posts :)

Yesss.. yess...... let the anger flow through you

/moves up the queue

I actually felt relief it was so simple to switch and that there were still so few in the MSI queue after yesterday's FTW bombshell.

Feel free to enjoy moving up the queue (assuming you were in fact behind me in order to benefit - I was 122nd last week) ;)

Can we have some information on the classified, ETA and does it come with the route power adapter, if not why not.

Wouldn't hold my breath on anything I'll just ignore any ETA given now on the FTW it's a complete joke if I knew I'd be waiting this long I'd have just gotten FE or a different AIB the way I see it, I've already been waiting since the 27th and I'm away for a week in a few days going to thorpe park so that'll be nice and wont be able to use it anyways so that's a bonus if I wasn't away for the week I would definitely have cancelled. Sorry Ben but EVGA is having an absolute joke with this launch. definitely not going with EVGA again when Ti launches.

I'm on a 980ti, but if the 1080 can get me +10fps in most things at my settings then it means i can turn up AA as currently having to run that pretty low - that is well worth the upgrade to me and GPU's always "lose" money over time.

I never look at a low value purchase like a GPU in terms of how much I could save by waiting, i purely look at how much use I am likely to get and how that price divides in to that time. A GPU works out at about £1-2 an hour, which compared with a lot of other hobbies is nothing.

Production is supposedly starting next week then it'll be another 10-14 days until we actually see them land in the UK (albeit in small supply).

Expect production to ramp up around July.
