** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

Same here. Built a new rig 1 month ago, waiting only for a GPU and the wait is killing me. :(

I'm in the same boat but I ordered all my parts to arrive tomorrow at the latest with the hope of getting my card on the Saturday. Most of the parts arrived today. Just waiting for my case and gpu from OC. Sad times looking at all the goodies and being unable to do anything with them.

Decided, based on the fact the HOF and the strix are all july 1st now on the ETA that im just going to wait out on the FTW for now- FTW is the card that appeals to me most of the batch (save the HOF perhaps)... do you guys think there is any chance the HOF could come before the 1st?

doubt it but HOF has a much higher spec than FTW.

I pre-ordered the Classified after being told by OCUK it would be available on the 3rd June. Then is was the 10th, now I have been told the 17th, tomorrow. I can only assume they are lying about that too.
Do these guys just want to hold our money by telling us it will be out on every Friday coming? I am guessing the Classified will be another month away at the earliest if people are struggling with other EVGA cards.

I suppose ringing tomorrow and moving my deposit to another aftermarket card and it actually being in stock is very unlikely.

Originally told to expect receipt of my Strix OC 1080 on 6th June (seriously doubted that one anyway!) then told should be the 13th ... then the 20th June ... and now .... 2nd/3rd/??? July or even later ???

Yes I'm disappointed!

I think the original ETA's should have been far more accurate.
(Perhaps this was all a ploy to increase hype and maximise pre-orders : we will never know)

Still, at least I saved £40 on the current price.

I'm holding out my FTW order as I'm away all next week and I'm off work now anyways this 660 at 4k just isn't doing it, my 660 was a spare card :P Any longer than first week of July I'll cancel my order and just grab a 1070 and wait for the 1080 Ti as if it's late into july that's 2 months since 1080 launched and with Vega rumored to be october that'll only be 3 months away

Are 1000+ OC Strix even deliverable ?

Not to be too much of a party pooper but isn't it now looking like Asus have really spilled the pudding on the Strix 1080, i really wonder if 1000+ orders for the Strix even deliverable by Asus?

Asus are a fairly well regarded brand and their talk of fully automated production plus the fastest GTX1080 default spec by quite a wide margin sold the card everyone and their dog. Delivery delay to the 17th was pretty much expected so nothing was too concerning initially since all the other manufacturers are having the same issues.

On the 2nd of June the price went up from £619.99 to £659.99 since "Asus made a oopsie with the pricing"

Then there was was a subtle part name change; when everyone preordered it as GTX 1080 DirectCU III Strix Gaming Aura RGB they were acknowledged with the OCUK reference STRIX-GTX1080-O8G-GAMING. If you look at the OCUK website now the standard Strix has the reference STRIX-GTX1080-8G-GAMING and the reference that 1000+ people have ordered is now called GTX 1080 DirectCU III OC Strix Gaming Aura.

Most troublingly Gibbo advises us that OCUK who we are told shall recieve the lions share of deliveries for the UK will recieve only 10pcs, 1 week after both Gigabyte and MSI have been shipping in fair volumes one of the largest electronics manufacturers in the world can manage 10 pcs for the UK. Gibbo then mentions that he will discuss reducing the delivered boost clock speed to 1885MHz.

My guess is that Asus messed up on their price list to OCUK and offed the overclocked card rather than the standard. OCUK being who they are then sold an unexpectedly huge number of these "faster than all others" cards that actually require significant binning efforts to build. If Asus made this same mistake everywhere in the world (i'd guess they did) there must be almost no chance they can bin sufficient numbers of overclocked cards to meet the demand in any sort of normal time frame.

maybe i'm talking nonsense....actually that's quite likely

doubt it but HOF has a much higher spec than FTW.

yet its only £9 more than I paid for the FTW... seriously considering the switch. My only issue is that im running a micro atx case- a silverstone ftz01- the max dimesions for it are H 140mm L 330mm and W 68 mm and I cant see the dimensions for the HOF (or the ftw for that matter!) anywhere

Would be interesting to see how many people buying on release actually need a card right now and who just wants to be amongst the first to own one for epeen/shiny shiny reasons.

Surely if you already own a card that works at your res then a few weeks/month waiting won't hurt to see how things pan out price wise and performance wise.

Currently have a 560ti and an Acer xb271hu. So yeah, I need them gpu.

If you calculate cost of ownership until you buy your next GFX card then 2 weeks is probably 2% for the type of person that's willing to dump £600 on one.

Well after a quick play with my EVGA SC I'm more than happy. Coming from a 970 SSC, this is even quieter and when I started to test it earlier it was boosting to 1949Mhz, which is way higher than the advertised clocks. Yes clock went down as the temp rose, but even then it was >1900 when at mid 70's, with no tweaking or overclocking at all attempted yet. Again advertised boost clocks are 1847 so after years of playing the silicon lottery it looks like I have a good one. Keen to see if/how it overclocks at the weekend when I have more time. :)

You won't be disappointed EVGA pre-orderers!

Had my PC since xmas but running on inbuilt waiting for pascal (whatever the I5 6600K has- its awful)- Got a vive in a box waiting for me but still waiting for a 1080 to play it with- 1st june cant come soon enough

Then there was was a subtle part name change; STRIX-GTX1080-O8G-GAMING. - STRIX-GTX1080-8G-GAMING

In fairness, on the 27th May the Asus website did reference both of these cards. I remember as I rushed back to my order and checked the model number and it was the O8G.

They did the same with the 980 ti strix an oc and a non oc version.

Edit: having checked reddit l - evga Jacob on twitter has said that people the in the USA have had orders shipped today.
