** OcUK HAS 21 CUSTOM GTX 1080 MODELS READY FOR PRE-ORDER !! **

If I wanted to put a 1080 under water in the next few weeks, what are the choices?

EKWB block with one of the FE's, evga sc or msi gaming g1? Other? Thanks!

Listing something as a feature of that card and then selling it separately even though the card is a relative high end and expensive product is a form of profiteering IMHO.

By your logic a complete set of SLI bridges would be a feature of the card but does everyone want to pay extra in the asking price for a 2, 3 and 4 way bridge.

That power connector is an optional extra like SLI bridges and should be sold separately so people don't have to pay for extras they won't use.

EK FC block for the FE 1080. Or just plain ref board.

All the top custom AIB cards require custom blocks. They are all in the works at EK but will take 1-2months for release. Apart from any AIB EVGA cards as EK are not making blocks for EVGA anymore.

I've just gone with two EVGA FE cards and EKFC black acetyl+Nickel blocks and backplates. Here and in tomorrow :).

Some people got response from EK that there is a small chance for Classified block

The reference blower editions from ka2 and others with the plastic blower coolers should use reference PCB as well. Whether you want to go for the lower end of the price points of the 1080s or the FE ones is up to you.

Looking at the EVGA GTX 1080 Hybrid. Update said Hybrid - Early July.
If I pre order now when can I expected to get it realistically?
Will there be any availability on the site to buy or is it just a pre order only for the next few months?

I'm kinda looking at what happened to the PG348Q...it's been out for months yet still only pre order. Luckily I got mine else where in early April.

I hope Ben keeps us updated on stock? Would like a progress report every other day on stock arriving here at OCUK. 1000's of us have paid lots of money and getting little info.

Dates are still very vague?

Ben@EVGA said they were doing their own blocks now. I'm not saying there won't be but at the minute there are no plans for any EVGA AIB blocks.

not their own, but someone other than EK is doing them

I am just assuming the 17th at the earliest, I think the "they might come sooner" is just a carrot to stop people cancelling to switch to something else that is due to come in this week

I see many fleeing to the FE card. Not me. I'm trying to keep myself busy and not think about it. It's getting harder, but holding strong. Don't care for the Nvidia FE.

Never hold your breath for a GPU launch, it'll be a long series of delays until there's reliable stock around (at least it's always been like that).

Do you remember the 980Ti hybrid? That took several months to keep up with demand.

I would have thought manafacturers would learn from these situations and make sure that are more prepared for demand. I can never understand why these delays always seem to happen.
