Ah I see. How long ago since you injured them?
Mine is feeling a lot better mate thanks for asking. Still abit ropey like, not back to full strength on anything but a lot better than I was hoping for especially considering I've had a rubbish month with flu/ sinus infection and only just coming off the antibiotics. Rear delt seems to be the main weakness for me right now, on about 1/4 of the weight and it pains if not careful when doing them.

Umm tore my left in January 08, and my right ever so slightly a few weeks later. Even using a cross trainer would be painful at points to to shoulder instability from a weak rotator cuff. It's *touch wood* holding up fine now though, can train fine, though still subluxes slightly every so often If I lye on it funny. Couldn't really raise my arm up above my head and pulling it across my body straight (you know the stretch) shortly after caused it to sublux heavily again, and again. Still fluid in it a year later when I had the MRI results.

One of the trainers at my gym recently did his shoulder in. Couldn't do any pressing. Was having acupuncture but it wasn't really helping. Went to see a specialist bloke at his house for £20 and the guy more or less fixed it in 5 minutes. Where two muscles had met they'd twisted oposite ways and gone under one another. Had done it in quite a few places. Finger and thumb lots of pressures and *pop* in several places and he's training pain and nuisance free again.

Deffinatley give your shoulder plenty of time to rest. You don't realise how annoying it is not having full mobility/function until you're without it. Shoulders are a complex joint so 'times a healer'.

Might be worth seeing a specialist if it persists :)

Does everybody in here aspire to have a body like Arnold?

We all have different aims, goals and reasons.

Interesting to read about your mate. Not sure how the muscles could cross over etc, but if it worked... Like I say I'm just taking it a bit easy, doing about 12 reps to keep the weight down and warming up with those rehab/ prehab exercises everyday. Also trying to stretch more as I never bothered in the past and to be honest its a chore now, but I'm trying to stick at it.

He's a natural too no? He has got a fantastic physique. I think he's around 98kg and sub 10% which is phenomenal.

Not sure if he's a natural but he knows a lot. Having just read a few articles by/about/with him in on T-nation, if I could ask anybody questions about this/that it'd be him. Guys life IS training and his bodies a testament to his devotion.

Yeah I'm not quite sure either, perhaps it was fibres, or tendons, either way sounds painful! I'm stretching more than I was, but probaly not enough. Left doing my legs a bit late tonight, going to be paiiiiinful.

I don't want to look like Arnold or those big tanks.

I just want to reach 12stone of muscle and I'll be in heaven. That's my goal.

I'll see where I am when I'm there and where I want to go from there.

No, I'd rather not be a michellin man. I can run, deadlift, logpress, all without conforming to the stereotype of having oversize arms. I mean Feodor Emilienenko does not have a peak on his biceps and he kicks ass in the MMA ring, same with Anderson Silva.

I go for strength improvement, but not absolute strength, I'd like a balance between strength and power to weight ratio.

So no I don't want to look like Arnold, I couldn't I'm only 5'9. I'd have more chance of looking like Dorian Yates he's 5'10.

YOu see I like a bit of size and definition - but I don't have the lifestyle for it to be my everything, if I didn't have to work then I would be a lot more dedicated to it and I'd aim for bigger things, unfortunately I've got a normal life to live :(

Have a look at Erik Fankhouser mate. He puts it into perspective for me.

I wouldn't honestly want to big as big arnie was.

Currently 83kg, if i can hit 100KG @ 10% body fat one day, i'll be happy :)

Arnie was 105kg at 6'2 contest weight iirc.

Erik Fankhouser is inspirational!

5 hours sleep and he manages all that? It's mental!

Also he has a great idea with the cross trainer and games :D

Also why cut out all the sodium? Is there a negative to it, because I simply love salt. I cover everything in it.

That would be phenomenal. Seriously, coming close to competition stats. Keep at it and good luck.

.

Yeah but on gear and with the gym availability across the pond it is easier. Furthermore, really he's not getting enough sleep and his lifestyle ain't that great. However, his dedication is inspirational, and the hard work is clearly shown, however I'm always dubious of those vids and as much as they say "a day in the life" I suspect it's never quite accurate.

Salt is ok in the quantities you need and absolutely vital and important to take in, however other than that it's horrific in excess.

Just read a previous post and it seems my perception of arnies weight in comparison to my own goals are a bit obscured(i thought he weighed more than he did)

Maybe 90-95kg @ 10%...but hey, that's all long term and a 'would be nice', i can only strive to get there. If it happens, that's a different matter.

Thanks for the kind words.

He weighed bang on 16.5st at competition, which means he was lean, i.e. less than 8% probably. Which means off competition he would have been closer to 17st or more but still low BF around 12% I remember reading.
