OcUK Health Seekers: Post your progress pics

Sweet, made some good changes to my diet so far, have the new year bundle from MP and I'm doing the Stronglifts 5x5 plan.

On my 5th workout today and the increment in weight isn't causing problems yet and I do feel I'm seeing mild improvements in terms of muslce already
(feel firmer and different). Not so much with the weight yet but then it's only been 9 days.

Do you know when that offer expires?

Tried to get a back shot but it was impossible so here's a very poor front shot of the wings. Can kind of see a bit of forearm vascularity going on there as well.

Looking really solid there mansize, what's your training look like at the moment, the results look good :)
btw your picture taking skills suck :p

Cheers guys, though having lost 3/4st I feel absolutely deflated. I guess that's to be expected!

Kept training really simple seeing as I'm on a cut. Each workout is begun with 1 set of barbell complexes and finished with 4-5mins HIIT on the rower. I alternative between 5x 5 and 4x 10 each week, obviously adjusting weights accordingly.

MON/WED/FRI
Deadlift or SLDL
Pullup
Bench
Dips

TUE/THUR
Front or Back Squat
Overhead Press
Calf Raise
Hammerup

FYI this routine has seen me lose weight and increase lifts. I must be on around a 500kcal deficit judging by the 1lb loss each week.

Looking awesome Mansize, have you ever tried jumping off a building to see how far the wings will carry you?

Posting these again just so people don't have to look back for them when trying to answer my question. :)

My question is how accurate do people believe the scales (the ones that measure body fat when you hold the handles) in places like Boots tend to be?

I only ask as I went to weigh myself today having not taken the body fat measurement when I went on the 2nd. Anyway, it says my bodyfat is 22% at a weight of 81.5kg which means I'm packing 17.9kg of fat it seems!!!

Just wondering though based on the photos above and my height (5ft11) would you say I look about this and the scales are accurate?

I guess I now have a new aim to reduce my bodyfat to less than 15% in time.

Those scales aren't very accurate so I wouldn't rely on them. At this stage you're better off measuring your progress by the weights your pushing and how much you weigh. Every so often you could get a somebody to measure your bodyfat with calipers but there isn't a whole lot of point; I certainly haven't ever had it done, nor seen reason to. Look in the mirror and take progress shots every month or 2, that'll be the cheapest and easiest way along with what I mentioned above.

Despite saying those machines aren't very accurate, I'd say 22% isn't a bad estimate at all. Around 20% is certainly in the right ball park.

Those machines will probably be ok at tracking progress as in increases or decreases in bodyfat, providing you use the same machine every time. However the actual reading it gives you might not be accurate, so if you were to use a different machine then you wouldn't really know where you stand in comparison to your last measurement.

Normally I wouldnt pay much attention to them Scales but they seem close to what I would think your % is.

I think rather than trying to reduce body fat, You need to hit Stronglift 5x5 for a few month and eat big. I used to be of a similar build to you and it made me fill out and look a lot more balanced.

Hi guys been lurking here for a while now. I've been training for around 8 months now and my goals are to add some mass and reach 13stone. Then concentrate on cutting for definition.

Im currently weighing 77.8KG and 5ft9". This time last year I was 10 1/2 stone and smoking 15 cigarettes a day. But thats all in the past now :)

Sorry for only one picture, find it hard to pose and take pictures!! Will be adding more as time goes on.
