OcUK Jonathon Palmer Day - Drive an M3 GTP, Clio CUP, 911, Caterham 7 and more...

I did a track day at Bedford a few years in my Impreza and it was a blast
I'll never forget being overtaken by the SuperRide car while doing 130mph it just took me by surprise

0730 rise for me :D

See you tomorrow gents. We can throw around pub ideas tomorrow, no point in trying to plan things beforehand, better to get an idea of what the general feeling is between everyone rather than forum posting left right and centre.

6am from the Travelodge?! Oh lord. I best set my alarm(s) now then. Fuel up and set off soon. UGH!

Now, do I go nuts and drive the whole way with the roof down like the utter loon I am or drive in comfort?! haha

Roof down with drift toy bobbling all over the shop. Don't forget a slight right JDM lean towards the window whilst utilising the left arm 12 o'clock wheel grip.

6am from travelodge? That's only in Brickhill and 10-15mins away from the track, Gibbo must need time to do his makeup and hair :D

6:15 alarm, 6:30 out of bed, 7:00 leave... gmaps says i'm an hours drive... i think it's more like 35-40 mins but not worth chancing it :S

Are you coming up the A421 from J13 M1?

Very fast good bit of Dual Carriagway.

Instead of going through town (and assuming coming up A421 as above) cut through the W. of Bedford along the orange road through Kempston rural. All straightish 60mph roads then you come up to A428 by biddenham. Turn right and head down A428 and turn left onto the A5141 (Shakespeare road) then up the A6 up towards THurleigh and the track.

Or when you get to Biddenham/A428 roundabout, cut through Bromham and Oakley then onto A6 for a more cross country and direct route.

Re the helmets a) I'm not sure that you would be able to use a motorbike helmet, depends if they run track day or circuit rules, and b) if you use theirs remember you will have to wear a dodgy hairnet underneath ;)

Just dropped the dog off at his hotel, will be up earlier than his usual walky time tomorrow, ugh! On the road by 6, as it's about 2 hours, but hope to be able to blast it down at that time. Beware the yellow peril, wave if you see us :)

Oh and it will be me with the username change :( I'm injured but will try not to limp tomorrow in case they don't let me play! Ooh but if I don't come last, one of you has the added humiliation of being beaten by a girl!

That would be frustrating... I've always got away with it for karting / track days... threw away my old karting helmet as it was getting ancient

Im at Bedford Travel Lodge tonight, so no long commute down in the morning. :)

Me too, drove down before it got dark and busy, I'm now sat here in my room watching Top Gear US on my laptop and almost shaking I'm that damn excited about tomorrow. :) Cya all in the morning.

Crinkleshoes, both look like same route but I'm on ky phone on way to the airport so can't check properly. Either way the first route looks fine, plus with it being so early you'll miss shopping and market traffic.

I'm not quite shaking but just so excited. Do we need to bring along the confirmation email printout, I forgot to print mine.

Fairy muff bud... I think I got the roads you mentioned :)

Darn rain... hope it stops soon like to forecast promises!

BTW Gibbo... if you don't get FTD in the 911, you do realise that you will have your license of ownership removed by the Germans in a very public display of Schadenfreude :p

Time for bed...
