OcUK Minecraft Server - Rules & Chat

Couple of points:

1) Scrlk didn't approach the admins about a possible bug. He instead abused it and boasted about openly in server chat.

2) Scrlk has caused damage to areas on the server previously and when asked to fix the damage has had an incredibly bad attitude towards the admins. He has been told before that he was on his last warning.

3) Scrlk's attitude towards admins whllst on the server has been inflammatory. Admins are doing their job. They don't deserver abuse or childish remarks any more than any of the rest of you do.

4) Random comments about admins not listening and similar remarks look pretty stupid when the very reason this has been investigated and discussed amongst the admins is a forum post from a member on here.

5) So far there have been no punishments for 'bad vouching' beyond us keeping a closer eye on the player in question. It is quite possible that the player will lose 'vouching rights' if we discover any further problems but that hasn't been decided upon yet. Either way, it is a completely different situation to scrlk - the players that freddie vouched for that *did* cause problems have already been banned.

That's not a couple of points :p

That's a list!

Suggestion, Would you not be up for discussing banning's where the other members can see? Could work a bit like a court case.

So, you present evidence, in the form of proof of a player causing damage and say the punishment is a perma ban, they could defend themselves and then verdict given?

Those *random* comments would have been made by me? I didn't feel my argument of why he should stay would have been taken in to consideration (due to not knowing much about the ban, nor being an admin) so I felt that it was a just comment. I was just weighing in with my two cents ;)

I was making the point, that players should take responsibility for the players they bring on to the server, it should reflect badly upon them and would warnings not be a fair punishment?

I agree scrlk is generally a nice guy, but I also feel at times he can come across as being arrogant and cocky (the desert incident) towards the admins. (A few people on the server belive this to be the reason sylvet has not been online.)

If this is intentional or not only he knows. But due to the lack of respect he has shown for admins in the past I feel he has probably been on a very very short straw, the iron duping has basically just been the last of it.

PS Just so admins know I have cloned my builds onto my private server and wont be coming back.
The border has actually been a blessing tbh as I am spending more time playing with my kids and spending time with the wife and friends on the private server. So feel free to delete or give the builds to people if they would like them.

it'll be a creeper.

Creeper explosions are now listed under name of the player that detonates them.

TnT is recorded under TNT.

Speaking of TNT! I set some off at yours t'other day with a miss click, do you want me to come over and repair the roof? I'm on my PC now not my MacBook :)

it's ok the roof will be fubared when the other columns are set off.

try not to set off individual columns in future as it leaves a lot more floating blocks than when they are done simultaneously as a group.

Guilty. :)

Again, looking back it did get really frustrating trying to get a good reason on why it couldn't be reverted. Anger brings out the worst in people and that's what happened here.

EDIT: It's still sad that you went nutty, you did build quite amazing things in such a short period of time. Best of luck in Minecraft!

You ware given a good reason

"Your mess you sort it out."

Edit: Also with regards to me leaving I was little wound up as things not going to plan (due to the border) but cooled off and was intending the next day to speak to admin to try and find a solution but started playing on my server and realized having more fun with my kids.

1. "Put the sand back"

2. "Your mess you sort it out"

3. "We only revert for creepers and griefing and creeper damage"
(this was the valid reason on why they didn't revert)

Between those 3 steps much rage was incurred.

The admins are there to enforce the rules, a line has to be drawn somewhere and stuck to. It's maybe harsh but it keeps the server from getting out of hand and keeps it a nice place to play. The admins giveup a lot of time helping players and enforcing the rules, time I'm sure they could use elsewhere. All this discussion doesn't help as you are just making it more difficult by questioning the decision.

This is just my personal two cents, I'm sure most people have probably guessed but I'm pretty much done with Minecraft and have removed myself from any role in the server management. It's been fun y'all.

FT, may be worthwhile getting this thread shut and starting a new one yourself so you can keep the OP up to date.

The short and simple answer is no.

This is not a court & the server rules are clear. The admin team are there to ensure they are followed, as well as helping out & all the other things that are required of them. As a result the admin team talk through and make decisions together to ensure no rash decisions are made. No additional input is required, we look at the evidence & any past occurrences.
