OcUK Minecraft Server - Rules & Chat

Calling all you minecrafterssssssss *booom*

The airport glass roof parts have been completed, but now we need your help!
If you can donate any stone or manpower to help extend the runway then please do so :D.

The problem with Millienair mod is that it is in alpha stages and very buggy I have tried it a few times getting better all the time but not stable enough for servers and is very buggy in single player mode. So stay away unless you want to do lot bug fixing research.

Speaking of SP mods, check this out:

So many mods in this pack look just amazing, they should really be in the game. The cauldron one especially, cooking 1 food at a time is so annoying, and being able to cook flour and make stacks of donuts to carry is just so good.
Oh and that elevator mod, wow.

Makes you wonder what notch and co do all day. Oh yeah, mess around, eating, arsing about on twitter.

Notch and Jeb are lazy all they add are useless stuff that most people don't care about. It's been what over a month since 1.6 came out and all they have perfected in that time is Pistons. The adventure mode should be something added after release there just isn't enough stuff currently that makes stuff more automatic. No one likes cooking pork chops one by one. Most people play for the building aspects and things like the panels, half panels and quarter panels are stuff people would actually want as you can get a lot more creative over annoying weather effects and hatches that are on the bottom of a block for some reason so don't sit flush with a surface... So many mods out there have done so much content in this time it's just silly.

tbh I don't see it like that. They have to be very carful with adding new features they don't want lose the minecraft feel.

Notch has said on many occasions after the adventure update the next step is fleshing out the game. I feel he is wanting to get the core of the game right before adding things like what you have suggested. Less is more atm tbh as if he filled the game with loads new stuff all at once it would cause hell of lot bugs. Adventure update is supposed to make it easier due to changes to add more things at a later date so we should expect to see lot of things come after that update.

Don't forget you may not like something e.g weather does not mean other people don't like it. I think weather adds a little more feel to the game.

Mods will always make games better that's why people do it. Minecraft is the ultimate sandbox mods make it easier to suit yer style of play.

I'm not talking about what has been added. I am talking about the amount of coding that is going on, some of these mods are pretty bug free and add a lot of stuff that isn't just decorative fluff and is probably quite a fair bit of code. I think that Better than Wolves mod and many others like Millenaire have taken a lot more code to get working than what has been added to minecraft this year and most of them are single man projects.

Don't forget no1 knows what adventure update is and how much content is in it and he has probably been working on that for some time.

What I am trying to say is yeh there are some great mods out there but adding say things like e.g few things from better than wolfs mod is not a good idea. That is what mods are for to add extra things. I say keep minecraft as basic as possible then maybe add Notch optional supported addon packs. This way it caters for everyone and don't blote the game down with crap.

In minecrafts current state I think you are wrong. If there was proper modding support I would agree but that seems to be another thing that he has been proposing for ages but hasn't been anything solid apart from having to sign up for a license. At the moment it isn't the easiest of things to get a server with certain feature and item adding mods and then get all of your users to install the same stuff. It needs to be easier to use.

I dread the idea of any leveling being put into the game, experience simply rings alarm bells for me. I like MC because it's simple and enjoyable, they seem to be getting confused about what the game is for - I want to dig and build - nothing else.

This.

I just want them to add more items and block types. Some of the items missing are glaringly obvious... a few examples:-

Stone half-blocks that look like stone
Half-blocks of every other block
Metal fences
Stackable signs
Properly stackable snowballs
More easily destructible stair blocks
Diamond/gold/iron blocks requiring only 4 mats like other blocks
Something useful for gravel like cooking it to make marble
Gates
Walls that work like fences
Different half-block types made buildable on top of each other
Even faster minecart boosters

And these are barely even new features, they're mostly fixes that should've been introduced months ago, if not in the first place.
