OcUK Minecraft Server - Rules & Chat

right while server is rebooting.

I asked to join this server as i was told the community works together to keep things all nice and help each other. Yes i have only a handful of posts in the forums. I was backed by Darg ( we are brothers in law).

So since i am one of the babies of the server i know my words will have little
weight. from the past adding more mods to games has not really helped a game run more smoothly as mods in general have difference of opinions and has really only cause more problems.

Why not ask. Is there something more as a community we can do to stop the greifing or a game mod we can asked to be put in place to help. I only heard of bbhere yesterday i was not aware it does not really work but still could we not find something better and suggest it?
 
My god some of you lot can whine. It's a community server, asshats will be asshats, more admin won't make the problem go away.

I can only assume that the server needs something done to it.
as this is the second reboot. it might just be a simple update.

I think this is a great server personally, not been on it very long but its lots of fun. I was just trying to troubleshoot as to why I can't connect, is anyone on at the moment?

The "is minecraft down" site says it isn't but...?

Ah well I'm sure I'll get on at some point :-)

Beta game is beta. That's about all there is to it. Nah just kidding it is all Radyr's and Gar's fault of course. :D

I had the same reply that you have just given 5th Jan I bit my lip big time at the time.
The best part was the to my knowledge part yup that would be ZERO Knowladge then :D

^^^^^^ Sever logs above when the buggy beta game crashed not the server.
Posted the above to save some players doubting the new server admin when he's asked if it was the server that crashed. I have restarted the server, windle the server will not let you do a world save 1st as the server is still running but the game has crashed so it can't save, you have to just close your eyes & press the restart button.
You may have a roll back & lost some work/items theres is nothing that your admin can do about this, welcome to beta.

Yes its annoying, frustrating and can be pretty disheartening at times when the server (software) crashes and you loose 20mins of work, but at the end of the day its still only a beta. we all know what we were getting in to. You needn't take any criticism personally, you did a great job :)

I have no time to write a long reply, purely to say that I don't think you do a bad job at all gars, my comment was related to griefing only. I haven't had time to read the last page of this thread either, I will do so tomorrow. I do love the server and your work on it, so thank you. It's a great place.
 
We could just make access to the server paid only - and because many more people would be paying, the monthly donation minimum could be reduced.

Windle/garsands, how many people on the whitelist are actually active? I'm guessing that it's more than four times the number of current paying members.

Reduce the monthly donation amount to 50p, which would lightly discourage griefers and also offset much more of the server costs.
