OcUK Photo Comp - Season Five : Round Five - "Emotion" DISCUSSION

I have updated my entry - I feel its a better shot, I just hope the judges can see the emotion on the little critter's face :)
 
Good shot shadow phoenix but I feel you have chosen the wrong emotion. For me you have used fear and its more a facing your fear type of shot. If I feared something I wouldnt go near it.

Its totally up to you but I think I would chose to call it "Depression"

I know :) But hey, the title of this comp is emotion, and it's stirred you into a negative one so it must be working on some level, no?
 
Added mine, 1st entry since "Music" in December :eek:

Not 100% happy with it, C&C appreciated.
 
Mrk, don't know if you've just changed/added your shot or if i'd just missed it today, but I really like your current entry. I'm not sure it's the best on 'theme' entered so far, but I think its a truely great photo! The sort of portrait I aspire to take.


(Sorry, I've come back from the dead a bit am posting a lot on here again after a bit of a break. Probably because I should be writing my thesis...)

I dunno. Its got a sort of "Fill light" plasticy feel to it. I kinda get what he was trying to do but I dunno. Just feels odd.
 
Hmm, it looks different on diferent screens, certainly looks differrnt on my bros crt and my works tft as opposed to my tft!

Perhaps that's where the plastic look lies :p

I dunno. Its all grey. The skin tones seem odd like the highlights are wrong.
 
i must admit mrk i prefered your other one. I felt it had atmosphere and was one of the few that really portrayed an emotion well. However im just a photography newbie so im probably talking poo! :p

Thanks for the feedback bud 'depression' was my though too but my sis and a

few others got quite scared of the pic and said it felt like they were falling of

the cliff with me so I thought I would use the idea of fear rather than

depression and suicide. Guess its just down to an individual interpretation

I like your pic and its got a very nice feel to it but I feel that the lines get

lost a bit with B/W as the two people are wearing dark cloths. Im not a

professional photogarpher its just my humble opinion

Wow another really good photo not sure it really conveys the emotion you are

looking for though. The photo seems to have a very peaceful feel to it even

though its a place of death and war
 
Shadow Phoenix you can copy and paste content from on post into another so you don't have to reply 4 times, just once. Also, whats going on with your posting. Seems to be double line spaced and a fixed width. A bit odd :)

He might be posting on a portable device of some sort maybe? Just a guess!
