OcUK Photo Comp - Season Five : Round Five - "Emotion" DISCUSSION

Well I wasted a perfect chance today....I went to the award ceremony at the local cinema for my old colleges film/media department (a mini Oscars).....and didn't take a single shot :( I got roped into handing out an award so I was sat at the back and had only taken my kit lens and 50mm prime....useless :(

I really like morgan's photo
just the sort of thing I aim for
it might not be technical competition stuff but I think it's a great candid shot

i'm thinking about changing mine, what do people think - it is good enough to get into the top 5?
Depends on the other entries tbh :)

My entry's in for this round - might change it though. We're decorating at the moment, so it seemed the obvious choice (although I like heights). Did it with my "new" AE-1, so that was the 17th SLR shot I have ever taken. Not too bad I think, although it was one of the only ones that was :(. I'm not sure if the wooden rung at the bottom of the picture is too distracting, though. Opinions?

First Time I've ever entred one of these Comps!... Hope the fact I took it on my w800i SE Mobile Phone don't count against me! :D

The Only other Camera I have is my EOS v33 which I need to get developed (Old School Film!)... I'm gonna be doing some more shooting (both with my Phone and EOS) soon So I might find summut better! :)

There's mine entered it may be temporary, we'll see lighting was poor so had to whack the iso all the way up to 1250 hence the noise :(

Edit: Any comments welcome

Do i need to adjust the saturation on my pic, i'm undecided!
It's possibly slightly strong, but not too bad.

Mine is up. I went for something a bit different! :p

Shall i change it to this one?

Righty,... decided to change mine, the one of the lady smiling worked well but the dark background just didnt work. One of my baby girl letting us know what she thought of her dinner has been entered instead. That is, until I take something else which cuts the butter aswell! ;)

I would just like to congratulate mrgubby on that shot.

The luck to get that shot to be possible plus the skill in making sure it was absolutely perfect in the short time available is stunning :)

On top of all the technical praise, its a great shot, too ;)

Yeah its a brilliant shot but flies doing it != emotion to me. Sex is an act not an emotion, and I can't quite imagine those two fell in love :)
