OcUK Powerlifting Totals

Thanks mate :) My dad is massive so i get it from him, 45 inch chest at 5'7''. Dads 5'8'' with a 50 inch chest but this bloke at the gym who basically mentors me is 5'10'' with a 53 inch chest

No I play rugby and am planning on trialing for the Uni team so it's just the same sort of stuff that the team wants us to do anyway, plus strength and conditioning

21 beendoing it seriously with the older guys in the gym for about 2 years but been in the gym since i was 16 - 17.

I don't know if i would have the time for comps, Plus i'm not defined just large on the chest arms and shoulders.

how would i look into comps?

wouldnt worry about being defined, powerlifting is about using your body to move the weigh, so for bench its not just about chest power/strength :]

head over to powerliftinguk.com forums, there are loads of people on there (most into the untested comps) but there is loads of information.
Or, the main tested federation is http://www.gbpf.org.uk/ , the website is reasonably new but still loads of info and should be able to find out your local region comp organiser :]

Been a bit funny recently as wasn't able to use proper equipment over summer :(

However my stats have slightly changed:

Bench: 88kg
deadlift: 160kg
squat: 120kg

Bodyweight: 80kg

Right, been a funny week this week, having to do back on monday as opposed to Wednesday, due to some exhibitions I had to visit for my degree. Due to a flat halloween party, i was unable to go to the gym on weds, hence mondays switch around (mondays normally just cardio anyway). That coupled with a fair bit of heavy drinking, including last night, I have managed to improve my PB's on two lifts :D

Originally squat was at 100kilo (smith machine due to lack of power rack). Taken that upto 122.5 kilo unspotted. Began to have 1 or 2 second stalls, so thought I would stop before I got trapped under the smith machine! :p That was yesterdays achievement.

Todays achievement is + 15 kilo to my deadlift which now stands at 165 kilo :)
Found it pritty god damn hard! God knows how you guys manage to push 200+ some even nearing 300! Hats off to you!

So at current:

Bench: 107.5KG
Squat: 122.5KG
Deadlift: 165KG

Total: 395

Pritty pleased with that for now :) not far off the 400 kilo club!

A lad I train with whos routine I'm currently using, designed for size gains (using dumbells over bars) is good but I felt I was lacking strength from last year. So decided to hop on the bench after my squats on saturday. Normally I find 60KG a good weight. But after just 3 weeks on this routine, my 'regular' bench is now at 70KG and feels pritty comfortable to push. So much so i got 12 sets of 10 reps out :p

FreeFaller: If you could put my lifts into the first post please :) Bodyweight 85KG

Added. Nice results. :) My target for this time next year is the 600k club!!!
Thanks

Very possible for you at the rate you seem to be going!

Low 400's for me, should be able to get another 20-30 kilo on my squat by christmas, and then if i can round the bench up to 110 or 115 and the dead upto 170 I can die a happy man:D

Will, 80kg over 3 lifts in a year would be a great achievement :]

Aye it would... it will take a lot of effort, and I'm still more interested in hypertrophy at the moment, but I'm not neglecting my strength work, however my 1RMs are down a little at the moment, however I'm getting it back slowly. By June I hope to rep on my current 1RMs and I can feel deep down that that's entirely possible.

excellent squat that, especially considering you just getting back to doing a proper back squat session.
should be seeing 200 soon :D

on a random note: there was a woman in the IPF world PL champs yesterday, 65kg i think, her opening 3 lifts totalled more than your 3 lifts!! some bloody strong people out there in this world :D
