Despite the shoulder injury which still hurts :( I just had to get off my ass and do something which resulted in a 5x5 120Kg squat today ;) Must have found my second wind.

Not a massive improvement and my form was not the best on all reps but the 115Kg was only 1 rep so I am pleased to push out a 120 and reps :) Onwards and upwards.

"EDIT" I fired up the phone to record myself too, A bit of a struggle but the weight went up good enough for me!

Nice!

Try not to hang around too long once you've de-racked. Just de-rack, step back, 1-2 seconds then bang them out.

Nice and deep, decent tempo. Good stuff.

Yeah they are beasts them stands ;) Made a bench too, Both do the job sound, There's some pictures in another thread # http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=17432812&postcount=4733

I've noticed watching the video that I do seem to stand there for a long while, no idea that I was doing it to till now, Must have been taking some breaths or something, I'll remember for next time!

Thanks FF, After watching some of the pretend squatters at my old gym I think I'll stick to deep ones that actually make a difference :p

Just make sure you get yourself psyched and set both mentally/physically before you get the weight in your back. When it's taxing heavy singles on you core you don't want 10 seconds of fatigue before going for a 1RM!

Other than that good job!

Impressive stuff! Cheeky 'Yes!' at the end, lol

Be interesting to see what some of the bigger lifters here could pull 'sumo' style as, unless I'm mis-informed, it's a slightly easier version of the lift?

It's not easier per-say. It depends on your body type and what you prefer/suits you.

I can crank out 190kg with a normal deadlift, yet I can't even lift 120kg with a sumo.

That was an odd lift, never seen it done like that before :D Good but odd...

Not odd at all, you just need to go to some meets or look at some of the pros out there.

Plenty of people like the sumo stance. It just depends on what benefits you.

I find that when I do it my rotators in my hips are on FIRE, it's like bone on bone. Not to mention it wreck my already ****** by lordosis back.

So try out both and see what suits and benefits you.

What's the ruling on behind the neck for the push press comp? I won't say what my old (back when i was 5 stone heavier) lift was, but i will give it a few tries in the coming weeks at my current weight. Did it first time in a while tonight and did 3 sets of 3 with 90 pretty comfortably.
