OCUK Rolling Road 11 - Saturday March 19th 2011 - Eurospec, Guildford - Pictures, graphs, discussion

...and being 4wd it is also and art to guess the transmission losses and can struggle to hit the numbers for ABS sensors and all sorts. I seem to recall there are problems with 4wd Porks on Rollers, they need tweaks I think, might be wrong.

If the GT3 was down on it's claimed power I would feel 99% confident it was the dyno at fault as below standard is unheard of in my experience on any 911 let alone 100bhp below!

I did say this on the day, Porsches don't loose horses. :)

The dyno at eurospec just can't give accurate flywheel figures.

I hope we made the appropriate report to the authorities about the tax disc?

Also, I stood outside Eurospec with a speed trap that I hope you all noticed?

I think that they weren't using a run down explains the figures, the stuff that under read the most at the flywheel were four wheel drive, the two wheel drive cars flywheel figures were less low on the healthy cars. And the wheel power was close to the norm for those that ran before.

You could probably apply a powerstation transmission loss profile to the wheel power profile from this meet and get a sane result. Anyone want to play with excel?

Turbo S should be bang on 450bhp (assuming 996) though more than likely would be a bit over but if it's had 'a map' I can believe it's not quite where the owner believe it would be, though if it's been done properly again I'd be surprised if it wasn't bang on the numbers, though air into a 911 is of course a big issue and would tend to be a problem on a RR with a single fan.

It made 470 where he was expecting 570 IIRC.

He did seem quite gutted. I wonder if he was missold? Shame really. Fantastic car though
Needs a new clutch too ;)

Anyway, have some graphs.

Glad I am right. So... Powerstation again ladies and gents? :D

I don't think there's anything wrong with trying another location...

The RR day I went to 2 weeks back was at Ajec Racing near Gloucester, it too runs a Dyno Dynamics, and their figures/curves/readings were pretty good, and everyone seemed happy. They also have a fair sized parking area. Only thing tricky would be getting food.

It's just a suggestion, but considering what people are saying, it might well be worth trying another location, and they're the last place I went to that seemed pretty good.

In comparison to my PS I made a lot more torque. But then on their rollers I only managed to pull 1.3 bar mid range, where as on EuroSpec I pulled my full 1.55bar, hence the 370ish lb/ft, and my power figures were only 3% out from PS.. which isn't too bad.
