OCUK Rolling Road 11 - Saturday March 19th 2011 - Eurospec, Guildford - Pictures, graphs, discussion

Is he claiming to be a know it all though? or is he just commenting on it being bizarre that some people were surprised it took longer to get through the huge list of cars than it did at other venues, with less cars?

This was one of if not the biggest motors meets for sure. But I do remember running 20 or so cars at Powerstation once and it was done by 1-2pm and that included trying to keep the Mustang on the dyno.

Eurospec I felt was not that great, dyno seemed to give dissapointing results for nearly everyone and it was clearly under-reading and lets not beat around the bush they were damn slow at running the cars and the problem seemed to be in getting the cars on and off the dyno was taking epic amounts of time as the 3 runs were completed within a couple of minutes. At powerstation you just drive yourself on and take it out yourself which makes things far quicker.

For me its an establishment I'd rather not go again, Powerstation is definetely the better venue along with much better surrounding roads too.

But I go for the meet, to have a good chat and passenger rides and to be frank thats always amazing and the venue can never have a damper on that. :)

For those asking, I've got the same back box as Booner, but just with twin pipes rather than quads - Eisenmann Sport.
Maybe that's how I made 233bhp

Gibbo - the other Evo bloke said that he had just had a service the week before. But the bloke at Eurospec said the oil looked rather black and thick
So that could have explained the discrepancy in output..

Steve, your Westfield is truly mental. Are there still tracks out there without dB limits? :D

Yeah - Wasn't one of the reasons for wanting to change to Eurospec the cost? or was it just location? It looks like you get more for your money at Powerstation. I didn't go, but from the pics it appears PS has better facilities, better parking and a better dyno.

I was

As far as i can see, if we want to use Eurospec as a venue again, somebody needs to have a quiet word with them to let them know people want to get in and out as soon as possible so everybody is free to go to the pub afterwards.

Or we could go to powerstation, where they understand what we want and can get the cars on / off the dyno quickly. I'd possibly prefer this because Eurospec was just too far away for me and i had work too. But i don't want the venue to go back to powerstation only to find nobody then turns up because they don't like it, as was happenning at the last RR we had at powerstation.

Not everybody wanted to **** off to the pub

Yeah Mitsubishi just throw in standard cheap carp oil. I always supply my own and it still looks clean now, certainly not black. :)

Anyone who wanted to go to the pub was free to do so and in fact did so, had a nice lunch, then returned to the meet afterwards. The security for the estate was being a bit anal about passwords to let people back in but other than that there were no problems at all with going to the pub really. To be honest, I think that suited better than being one place for the morning and then upping sticks and all 50 odd people going somewhere else.

People who wanted pub lunch had it, people who wanted to stay watching cars and eat pizza did that etc. I think it generally let everyone do what they wanted without too much issue.

Quite. I had a good day, I think everyone else had a good day, we tried a new venue and have drawn our own conclusions from this, there isn't a great deal more that needs to be said really. :)

Thanks glad you enjoyed it. The noise issue is the one thing most BEC's struggle with sadly. When I had to go through the SVA test I just squeaked through on the noise levels.

I am running a different exhaust can now which is much larger than the factory supplied one. The other problem is induction hammer so I may go down the route of using the original Hayabusa airbox.

Even on a 105db trackday I reckon I may struggle

Shame I didnt have the video camera attached when we were out as we managed to get quite a few pops and bangs when I was flatshifting :D

I must make sure I use earplugs when I go out in next though as I definitely think its affecting my hearing

I'm not surprised; my ears were ringing after that ride! Those pops and bangs were crazy.
My car felt so slow and quiet after the Monaro, Evo, Exige and finally your beastly creation :(

And to go with this, thanks to Kosta for the video, my graph:

Well after a bit of advice off the mx5 section of pistonheads it seems my afr really isnt that much out at all, not enough to lose 15bhp as i got advised the other day. Means i don't need to try and adjust my imaginery dizzy now though, which is good.

Think i'll just write that run off :p
