OcUK Rolling Road Day 20 @ Ti Motorsport (Stoke) - Saturday 29th October 2016

So hows everyone feeling about the upcoming RR?

I think mines running a bit rough at the moment, I've got it booked in for a new timing chain AFTER the RR day haha. Slight misfire at low revs, mechanic reckons possible chain stretch.

I'll still see if it either hits over 200BHP or blows up though, I'm easy either way :D

I'm in two minds, on the one hand I'm looking forward to it, on the other hand my S3 still hasn't arrived, and running a 136PS eco-diesel doesn't thrill me!

The one thing I am interested in though (if I still have the diesel), is that as we are getting multiple runs, I can see what (if anything) the difference is between running it in economy mode vs dynamic.

Im feeling pretty good after replacing the gearbox, feels better than the old one ever did in my ownership.

Just need to make time to put my bigger injectors in and add a bit more boost a the top end

I really want to go but my work load is pretty silly right now so I'll have to wait until the Friday to see if I can spare the Saturday off (I'd be travelling back to Stoke anyway so it's not just for the RR day :D)

Yeah that'd be interesting to be fair. I'm looking forward to it anyway, days like that are always a good crack :) Any news on when your S3 is due? They're such a good looking motor in saloon form!

Well, according to the dealer when I got a call on Tuesday, it was "on a boat", which meant roughly 10 days (would have meant a delivery date of the 21st), however the online tracker still shows that my car is in Emden (German port), and all the information I can find suggests there is a relatively large backlog for cars heading to Grimsby (as mine is). So I don't know who to believe at the moment.

It's either sat in Grimsby awaiting a transport to the dealer to be PDI'd (so the tracker is wrong), or it's sat in Emden waiting for a boat (and the dealer is wrong). If it's the latter there's very little chance I'll get it before the RR now.

Well I might be out again. 2 days and already it's broke again, cracked the exhaust manifold. The 335i will still be there though so if the Silvia doesn't make it I'll come in that.

Is this the manifold that was cracked upon delivery when you bought it, and the seller said (somewhat fancifully) that it must have been damaged in transit? As if :(. I'd be after the seller really, clearly wasn't right when he sold it.

Yep got it repaired at doritech and it cracked right on the repair. In fairness I could have whacked the downpipe off the floor during the welsh b road session which could be a contributing factor. Going to re weld it and put some bracing in it this time.

Had a few offs over the weekend but avoided driving into anything so I'm now a runner. Looking forward to seeing how much power I've had all year as well as a taste of what I'll have next year now that the boost controller is fitted.

Going to hopefully get the map on my leon looked at. As it has the stutter issue which affects nearly all pd170 Leon's when they've been mapped by people who don't know the engine. I'd hope for 200bhp/300lbft torque. Anything close or over is fine.

If I make over 215bhp I'll be happy. Hopefully 220 or slightly over.

Dyno seems pretty accurate, watched the M3 cup cars run which are stock power, they were making 332BHP which is a little under the 338BHP they should make in BHP as they from factory are 343PS.

My M3 is now run in, be interesting to see what it makes, no map changes but of course short final ratio, different tyres which should not impact a dyno result but we shall see. But needless to say on the road the M3 is friggin fast, hilarious quick, it pulls to 180+ :)
