given the scaling on lower end GPU's is there going to be any difference using a 5600x or the 5800X3D on a 3070 and below.
I doubt AMD would have deliberately held back performance especially since if they had have been able to push it more then it would have retaken the crown from Intel. It's more likely technical limitations and reliability which is why the voltage only goes up to 1.35v.Thisnis possibly why OC is blocked, can't have the 5800x3d being too fast
No 3D stacked cache for Zen4 until 2023

Added to OP! Thanks!
40 games and no Flight simulator, that shows big x3d gains

Wouldn't change the results much, but as it's a CPU heavy game, it really should be included IMO.MS Flight Simulator used to be one of the games he included with these large CPU benchmarks, suddenly not....
think I'm gonna sell my 5900x and get one as I only game so don't really use the extra cores...hopefully there will be some real world comparison between them on 40 games like the review above.

only a 3080what gpu you have
only a 3080
How times have changed since this time last year when ryzen had a huge lead over Intels newly released rocket lake and people were saying it would take 5 years for Intel to catch AMD yet with 17 months dev time since zen 3 AMD can only match Intels ADL in gaming performance while losing in productivity even against the cheaper vanilla zen 3 chips so it's not that impressive in the grand scheme of things especially when compared to the gains Intel made with ADL over rocket lake.pretty nuts how AMD have matched intels latest and greatest platform which takes advantage of DDR5 on the 4 year old AM4!
Roll on AM5!
