OcUK RX7900 series review thread

Quite entertaining that 80% of replies in this thread are from Nvidia gpu owners....

Ain't defending either though both are terrible

One of the reasons I got the 3080 was because I could get it at MSRP Nvidia do Fe UK drops while AMD store didn't do anything for UK so yeah no chance to get 6800xt at MSRP

I have no brand loyalty I just buy who is giving me the best value and neither currently are even if AMD are slightly charging less
Actually owned AMD 290x was better option compared to what Nvidia had at the time which was 780 it was cheaper and faster also have 5700xt oh yeah also have AMD CPU because I thought zen3 was the better option over 10th gen intel

Might jump on am5 if x3d turns out to be good :)

another new issue has been found, I've lost count now of all of the issues.

Mesh Shading is a DirectX 12 feature; something went wrong and RDNA3 has less than half the performance of RDNA2 when doing mesh shading

I would run that but there is no leader board on 3DMark, it's literally just a random pointless test in the 3DMark suite.

However, I notice that once again the legendary GameRock is on top. ;)

It's not a game/benchmark. It's a 3D mark feature test, they have several of these to test specific DirectX 12 ultimate features. Mesh Shading is a feature that improves game performance

I never said it wasn't important. Grim said it affects gaming performance, I was just curious which games. Do you know?

He never said anything about current games.

It is a DX12 feature developers are free to use.

It is obviously a bug and AMD didn't deliberately kill its performance.

RDNA really isn't doing what Ryzen did.

Some reviewers and Twitter accounts are losing their minds over data that's not really complete and using it to cause noise which is then repeated here as fact.

The way I read the Guru 3D table it says, AMD hit the targets that were in the AMD slides. If you look at 6900XT reference vs. 7900XT reference.

Performance per watt is at least 1.5X for RDNA2 vs RDNA3, happy to be corrected, maybe its just the way I am reading the table.

In-fact, its almost mathematically 1.5X on the nose, give or take small variations.

What about all the performance lost from Mesh Shaders in games though dude?
