There is very little margin in the product, the resellers won't work for no profit, hence why XTX is very unlikely at MSRP, especially for volume.

Yea, I'm disappointed that it costs more than the expected $999 price tag... £1050 is $1300 (Almost) so 30% more than expected.

Unless I'm missing something?

That is the incorrect way of working that out!

If someone in the USA buys from us they would pay £874.99 as they do not pay UK tax.

875 x 1.22 = $1067 is the price a none UK, none UK VAT paying customer pays.

You are, VAT and retailer costs (shipping stocking etc)

These are not direct from AMD, there lies the price problem. Brexit, AMD mentioned it during the 6000 series.

Yeah absolutely, I see the retailer’s position here, I just don’t think AMD should advertise at prices they’re not going to deliver.

The $1789(AUD) price was from AMD’s own Twitter account too, not a retailer, so it’s effectively the MSRP that’s risen 10%. What retailers are actually going to charge is not yet clear.

Because I'm saying people typically set a budget and they'll find it easier to justify a small increase in percentage terms if they're getting something more for it, i.e if someone has set a budget of 900 going to 1k maybe something they're willing to stretch to, going from 900 to 1.2k not so much because that's a big jump from up their original budget.

The point I'm making is spending £1000-1200 on cards where the equivalent last gen would have been £525 in terms of the relative performance on offer isn't worth it.

How many people would have purchased a 3070ti for £1100 or a 6800 non XT for £1000 as that's essentially what these companies are trying to sell you now.

you mean the same way they advertise performace gains they arent going to deliver? hiding behind up to and scaling tech to bulk the numbers

Technically AMD can deliver it, but only via their own website as they have the margin to do so.

Anyway we have hit MSRP on XT and I've done my best to get as close as realistically possible for volume on the XTX and have huge stock for launch.

I know ill get ridiculed for saying this but you guys really shouldn't be giving AMD your money for this overpriced card. They need to learn that taking the **** is not OK and I hope they sell none..
Same goes for Nfail too..
This is no dig at ocuk as I know full well of the **** margins on GPU's and CPU's...

I expect that of every manufacturer of basically anything, stretch the truth, cherry-pick to make yourself look good etc etc.

Where they give prices though, I do expect them to hold to those. More fool me I guess!

AMD are pi****g in the wind if they think anyone is/I'm going to be buying the 7900XTX. It's £200-£300 more than it should cost. Worse RT performance and generally worse rasta vs 4080 and zero mindshare in the market means they are having a laugh again. Reminds me of the Fury X launch. Not as good as the 980ti, less vram and more expensive. AMD need to build market share and they seem intent on achieving the exact opposite. AMD's GPU division are doing a Matrox and will disappear up their own backside if they don't pull their finger out.
