it gets moved around in transit, we can shake it around for ages during testing and it wont ever remove all of the air from the system

as we said this can dislodge any air pockets from the rad.

you should allow the air to rise into the pump unit and then fill the remainder up with the provided fluid.

this is probably around a teaspoon of fluid in reality but it is worth doing to get best performance.

all you need to do is allow the air to rise from the tube into the pump unit, it will get trapped in the reservoir easily.

from then on, just top the fluid up carefully via the fillport on the block.

ensure you close it up properly and run it from the power supply for an hour or so to ensure you have resealed it correctly.

Superb!

Well I've had mine installed for 2 days now, I can't hear the pump at all but I do have several fans running that may be drowning it out, either way it doesn't bother me one bit.

As for performance... so far... Wow... I idle between 28C and 30C then after running Prime 95 for over an hour it was still only at 46C ! That's only a couple of C higher than the Idle Temp my old H80 was giving me! and when I prime 95'd the H80... well it got to 76C about 20 mins in and I chickened out!

So yea, I highly recommend the Fathom if you are after Water Cooling but haven't the £££ to go full custom loop!

I'll snap some pics when I get time.

Is that Haswell? If so, pretty good temp!

Cheers for that sounds like a good setup :)

A couple Pics:

(I had to loosely cable tie the tubing back otherwise it interfered with the fans in the side, I have a Red Sharpie to colour the ties in with :D )

What I would also like to know is.... Is this Coolant Level OK or should I top it up a little and if so to where? Should the whole Window be Red?
Bear in mind it is running in this picture, when it is off the Window is completely covered.

No that's with an AMD FX8150 Black Edition.

^^Good question

What temps you getting Ranes?

I ran Prime on mine for just over 20mins earlier today and my max temp was 52 degrees. Averaged about 48 tho :)

That's on Haswell i7-4770k

What was your old cooler and what temps did that give?

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned previously in the thread (I think I've read most of it, but forgotten), I'm thinking these could be quite good for HTPCs or SFF PCs/cases. Although the larger rads probably not so much.

What I'm tempted to do that you can't do with a normal AIO is to buy just the pump/block/res and get a 2 x 80mm rad (a 160mm?) for my HTPC.

Maybe that's an idea for an expansion to the range, unusual radiators sizes (e.g. for 80mm fans or 180/200mm fans) that you can't get AIO coolers for?
