My dog craps and i cant see it in the night, i dunno thats all i can think of off the top of my head.
Bike light
Walking light
Camping light
"Emergency" light
All pretty much need a different torch...
That's why I have 4 (ish)
TK12 for the Bike light and some walking/spotlighting (need to get another one at some point too, one spread beam and one distance)
LED Lenser Aviator for a general camping torch when inside and as a night vision torch (has a red bulb)
Tikka XP Head torch when walking
LED Lenser keyring torch for anything I may need a torch for, always attached to my keys...

I've wanted a Fenix LD20 for ages for my zombie survival kit, but alas I cannot allow myself to spend £50 on a torch.

Ive spent £36 on a takeaway before today. These torches will last a lifetime, worth every penny IMO.

I got a little blue torch with my CSI Miami season 5 I got ages back, it's neat when your bathroom lightbulb blows at 3am so you don't have to aim in the darkness.

I have 2 proper torches and then a head torch and a small keyring torch that I wouldn't necessarilly class as a "torches". So 4 ish...

At the moment I just electrical tape my torch to the bar, really need to get a proper holder for it.

I use my Fenix L2D for all 4 of those. I got a diffuser for use inside the tent/garage/loft/cave, which is a handy attachment

One thing to be said for good torches - they are very flexible.
Actually I made a mistake, it's not the TK12 it's the TK10, which only has 2 modes, "Wow my eyes" and "OMGWTFBBQ I'm blind!", ie normal and turbo.
Means it can be a bit bright for general looking around in enclosed spaces. I did wonder about getting a red filter for it but I take the other torch out when I need it. Also the Head torch is hands free, unlike the others.
It's also always good to take a spare torch with you for a variety of reasons, therefor at least 2 torches, just like compasses/GPS, always take 2.
