*** Oculus Quest 2 Owners Thread ***

I played Firewall: Zerohour obsessively for months using the aim controller on PSVR. The tracking is a bit dubious at times (as with all PSVR titles) but it's an amazing game

Have you found any Oculus multiplayer shooter games similar to Firewall? I'm worried I'll be disappointed with Onward/Contractors on Quest after playing Firewall on PSVR?

I also used the Aim but the Drift was a pain..I didnt get it that often tho..I play Onward also had a bash at pavlov but i defo prefer onward out of the 2...Both are not firewall tho

I have my fingers crossed we see firewall 2 on Oculus headsets at some point

I upgraded my motherboard from X370 to X570. Other than one day changing the CPU I also wanted to get ‘USB 3.2’ speed for my Quest 2. Am using Anker cable as recommended on Oculus site
After changing I was happy to be seeing 2.7 Gbps on the USB Test where my old mobo only went to 2.1.
This morning I installed the AMD Chipset drivers from AMD site and now only get 2.0 Gbps maximum.
Will be uninstalling..possibly windows reinstall to get back again. Just wondered if anyone else has seen this drop after driver change

you need to install the chipset drivers from your motherboard manufactures website, NOT AMD

try uninstalling them and re downloading them

after changing from intel to amd i have a x570 tommahawk and i get constant 2.9 gb/s

Yeah, I really enjoy the gunplay and game mechanics in firewall. It's perfect IMO other than the tracking on PSVR. I guess any sequels will be Playstation exclusive as Sony published it?

I'd hoped the new game Solaris by firewall developers first contract would be similar but it's received a lot of disappointing reviews.

Maybe I'll buy contractors and onward then I can refund the one I like least!

Thanks. I tried uninstalling chipset drivers and then installing from Gigabyte site but didn’t help, got 2.1, 2.0, or sometimes 1.9.
Just did a quick re-install of Windows 10 and now back to 2.7 Gbps, sometimes dropping to 2.5
Installed just Gigabyte drivers this time and all ok, though sometimes dropping to 2.5Gbps.
Wondering if it’s worth spending £90 to get a few more Gbps from the official link cable

Hi all, may have been asked before but what is thr thoughts on children using the quest 2? I have a six year old who was blown away by something as simple as a Google cardboard game so can only imagine what he would think of something like the quest.

Is it safe for a child? Would the headset even fit?

I think it's too young. If you want to buy the headset for yourself and let the child use it occasionally, that should be ok.

There is no studies or anything, but, they don't know how long term use of VR will affect kids. That's why it's recommended for 13 years and up.

My 8 year old enjoys it. He goes real vr fishing with his grandad. Enjoys first steps too. I Think 6 would be ok for maybe 15 minute stints but check their mood after. If they're irritable etc it's clearly too much.

Update 25 stuff. Hit mute and use subtitles, as BMF sounds like a chipmunk.

So, to save me trawling, what's the best battery packs for the Quest 2? I have the backpack battery holder so just want to get a battery that will fit it nicely and offer a good bang for buck...

Edit - also half-decent blue tooth headphone recommendations...please

Did you try letting the headset and aim controller calibrate before moving them? I heard if you make sure not to move PSVR (and/or accessories) during the first 30 seconds after switching on it helps minimise issues.

Sony published the first firewall but Solaris is on Oculus as well as playstation that gives me high hopes we will see a firewall 2 on Oculus headsets (Fingers Crossed)

Also turning the Aim controller clockwise a few times soretd the driffting issues out when you had it ..Its pretty much where you camara is and light conditions, I mouted mine on the wall facing down to me solved a lot of it

Is this for use for gaming on quest 2 as the in built headphone is crap? Do you want earbuds or over the ear headphones? Which ever you choose, if you want near perfect lip sync between audio and video, choose ones that support the 'aptx low latency' protocol. Bluetooth transmitter from your pc needs to support this too (I'm assuming you'll be using your pc to stream games to your quest via virtual desktop).

you cant use Bluetooth headphones on the Quest 2 yet, well not very well

they have just updated the mice Bluetooth on the new V.25 update

Thanks folks, I'm an idiot - I bought some cheap BT headphones which weren't too bad, well terrible sync but Audica let me tweak to a pretty good level, then I google a bit and realised it has a headphone jack - D'oh! It's because it's so sunk I didn't realise, and when I googled 'how to connect headphones' I got a loads of info about connecting BT! I'm getting too 'Homer' for this lol

Got my Quest 2 delivered yesterday as my first foray into VR, by the end of setting it up I felt crazy sick.

Guess it’ll end up on the MM if I can’t get used to it :(
