*** Oculus Quest 2 Owners Thread ***

Does the Quest store ever see sales? There are a lot of games I'd like to get, but even at £10-£20 a pop, the cost is fair adding up :p

Or can codes be bought elsewhere at a discount?

I've seen PC oculus keys on sale on third party games sites, but not Quest.

Quest games do go on sale occasionally - there was a sale recently - but the discounts aren't normally that great. Oculus are sneaky about ending sales whenever they release new hardware, as new users are eager for games.

There could be a Halloween sale soon though, as Oculus generally do one of those.

Rarely more than 15%, not worth waiting in all honesty, and Quest games can only be bought from Oculus, sideloading apks is a no-no unless they are free apps like in Sidequest.

How clear should text/things be on this thing? Tried Netflix on that big room thing, wasnt especially clear. The text is kind of ok if you look directly at it.

Games seem fine, though hard to tell as they are not that high resolution. :)

Maybe I need to get a non glasses wearer to test it.....

Netflix is the worst app to test sharpness as it's deliberately restricted to 480p for DRM reasons. It's exactly the same app as was on the Gear VR and it's in bad need up a HD update. Amazon prime is better as that is HD. Or try watching some HD YouTube or other streaming videos.

After cranking the Pixels Per Display Pixel Override to 1.4 and the Encode resolution Width to 3664 in the Oculus Debug Tool Warthunder is so much better now using Oculus link.

Pixels per display setting override,
Does this suggest that at default the headset is running a lower resolution?

Do you know if this also affects the Virtual Desktop connection. And is it just for games or video too?

Has anyone compared a native Q2 app vs one streamed from Virtual Desktop?
Trying to decide if I should buy Superhot on PC and stream it or get the native version.

I've played Superhot on both and couldn't tell the difference really. It's not a very graphically intensive game. I refunded my Oculus one and bought the Steam version because I've got a HP Reverb 2 on preorder and figure I'll probably jump ship after that arrives. If I want to show Superhot to people outside of my home, I can use the demo on the Oculus store.

Yodel have offically said it's lost. Can't get in touch with my neighbour and just can't be bothered it seems.

Let's find out how good oculus customer service is... "we will get back to you in 2 business days" So Monday, awesome. Great start.
