I just installed Virtual Desktop and it connected wireless to my build in motherboard wireless at 5Ghz 866Mbps
Is 5Ghz 866Mbps going be fast enough ?
new user - great summary ,thank you! Understood. So 1.4 scaling @80hz.... why 80? Definitely need to play Alyx also!
ThanksShould be ok... but to get that extra few ms of latency, Wifi6 1200Mbs always a way to go.
What kind of latency you getting in the onscreen display?
local shop had one in stock, quest 2 is now sat here updating![]()
na got the rift s, but wires destroy the freedom and vr experience, ill keep the s for dcs, but everything else ill use q2 along with wireless alyx etcFirst headset?
Not impressed with the Virtual Desktop app
Loaded up google earth VR and it just displayed a 2D version of it on a big screennot all like the VR version you get when you use a Cable connected in rift mode
I was reading that you don't need to side load a patch anymorehave you sideloaded and installed the sidequest app and virtual desktop extra software?
Them videos look like they just show how to get the Quest 2 to work by wirelessthis is what i have watched and followed :
sideload : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RoIXxIfRNTw&ab_channel=VirtualRealityOasis
virtualdesktop : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2DmBbfj9MRI&ab_channel=EmzoVR

Mine works no problem by wireless...Just that the Apps no work like they should do. They just show on a huge screen in 2D instead of showing in VR
thanks for the info on virtual desktop, didnt know thatNot wishing to sound rude, but if everything is just looking like it's a massive 2d screen, then clearly your pcvr isn't working "no problem", as there's clearly a problem. Have you followed the instructions in the video?
I don't believe there's any need to sideload virtual desktop anymore, since it's now officially supported (maybe through app lab).

It the Oculus version and yes am starting it from the Game TABWhat version of Google Earth are you trying to play? The Steam or Oculus Version?
Also, are you starting it right? You don't actually start it like you normally would. You start it from the Games tab in the Virtual Desktop menu.
Do i need this side quest App installed or notYou don't need to sideload anymore.
EDIT: haha sorry, I am late as usual!!
