Woah, the prescription lenses only go up to +6!

Mine are -1/-1.25 not changed for 30 years!

Exact same prescription as me, even to the eye if the order is left/right above.

Can cope without them on with the headset on, but they do help with clarity when I wear them.

Virtual desktop working great wirelessly, did a few robo recall missions and beat saber songs flawlessly.

Question regarding casting, if my kids want to watch me play .....anyone tried casting to a TV while playing wirelessly, is there any overhead or noticeable degradation of performance?

Yes.

Though IIRC there was a thread on Reddit about a workaround.

Depends on the game, wife casted whilst playing TheRoom over VD and that was fine, though I would have thought for faster games, probably better to cast your PC to the TV, rather than PC to Quest to TV, as your PC will have more grunt.

Regarding casting, do I need chromecast to actually cast to the TV. Its an LG B9 OLED TV.

I could never get a Chromecast to work with the Quest 1. I really should get around to trying it with the Quest 2.

What would the Oculus Quest 2 be like with with a cheaper USB link for games like Elite. Are there any disadvantages of using the Quest 2 link as a main PC headset for games like Elite? No drop in resolution? Had a quick look at reviews but none of the ones I looked at when into the link and Quest as a PC gaming headset.

It's actually very good, especially if you increase the bit-rate via the Oculus Debug Tools. Image quality is massively clearer (especially for text) than most other VR headsets, and there's almost no screen-door effect.

The only thing I would say is that the Quest 2 FOV feels really restricted compared to headsets like the Index, but if you've not experienced the Index then you won't know the difference, and of course the Quest is 1/3rd the price.

Just tried holding the headset close to my eyes without the foam. Really looks good... The mvhstudios headset let's you set how far away it is. Now i need to work out how to block the light. Much better fov.

There have been a few drops already using site/store codes (paid £280 for my Q2 with 2y warranty). Suggest looking at sites like hotdeals.
