*** Oculus Quest 2 Owners Thread ***

I'm having trouble with oculus support over the slightly dim line down the middle of the right display. They asked me to take a photo of it, I told them it would be impossible to get a photo of the screen through the lens. They said try rebooting the headset ( pointless as I turn it off all the time ). They said factory reset it. I've done that just to prove that's a waste of time. Now they've asked for a photo again. I swear they're using untrained customer support people with canned responses.

Keep persevering. I had a similar issue with a dead pixel on an Oculus Go - it was impossible to take a clear photo of it. Eventually they caved in an replaced it.

Well the Pro Headmount from MVH Studios arrived and it's great.

As comfortable as my Rift S.
More comfortable than the Vive Deluxe Audio Strap, though I've only tried this on the Quest 1.

Incredibly adjustable, even comes with a USB-C cable for the battery. Not sure what margin he's getting on these but for £19 it p*sses on anything else.

Looks great.

Annoyingly, I was waiting to see some impressions of this and now... it's sold out :p

I've sent the guy at mvhstudios a thank you email, but also asked him when he expects to have more stock in.

What's this strap like with over the ear headphones? I use skullcandy crushers with mine ( they are amazing! ), that large adjustment knob looks like it could be in the way?

I ordered a Vokoo USB cable to try with link (waiting to get PC wired to network before using VD) but despite it showing up in the Oculus PC app as connected via USB 3, when I connect in the headset to Link it just goes black. It’s an old gigabyte z68x ud3p B3 motherboard for an i7 3770k but it has usb 3.

Is it worth trying another cable? Or am I wasting my time? Was looking at one of the Anker ones Oculus recommends.

Did you try all available USB ports? Link can be picky, only one works on my laptop.

I haven’t actually. It works fine on the USB 2.0 ports but I’ve only 2 3.0. I’ll give that a try! Cheers.

Edit: No joy unfortunately. Ordered an Anker one to give it a try.

I see a certain high street store has plenty of stock for the elite straps now. I'm still tempted with the battery version, and I actually quite fancy having the case to keep everything in.

Last night I ended up spending an hour watching youtube VR videos. When I came out, I honestly thought my eyes had been given an upgrade. Real-life 16k Ultra HDR+ OLED :p

anyone played this yet?

I've had absolutely no issues at all with the standard head strap for my Quest 2. I never even think about it, just slip it on and it does the job. Granted, I don't really spend any longer than 30-45 mins playing at a time, but after that, it's more my eyes and brain I'm worried about than my head :D

I was the same with the original. But given the price of this, I couldn't resist :D.

Hey guys, because the link cable is out of stock everywhere for Quest 2 I went online and bought an alternative for £38 but just realised that I I got USB C to USB. Will this still be ok?

Does it matter that I didn't get USB C to USB C?

I have an RTX 2080 so I could have got USB C to USB C but didn't realise!

EDIT: The one I got was "Oculus Link Cable 5m, dethinton Usb to Usb C Cable High Speed Data Transfer & Fast Charging USB C Cable Compatible for Oculus Quest and Quest 2 to a Gaming PC"

Is there any difference for data transfer with doing USB C to USB instead of USB C to USB C? Or will I notice no difference?

Thats fine.

Thats fine.

Ok thanks, appreciate your response.

BTW guys, I find the Quest 2 really uncomfortable. It's a great headset and I'm enjoying it so far but seriously, it hurts my ears, it rubs behind my ears and after an hour becomes really painful.

I'm just about to go pickup my elite headstrap now, hoping that will be decent and comfortable.

Also the facial cover is now nice too, I looked on that VRcover website but the new one they have designed for Quest 2 isn't available yet but soon as it is I'll buy that.

Only had my Quest 2 three days so far and coming from Rift S I feel the visual quality is amazing and can't wait to try out PC VR on my Quest later today when the cable arrives but I just wish Oculus had not gone so cheap on comfort.

Also the sound is a massive improvement, seems a lot louder now.

And the controllers are amazing, they're more like the original ones from my CV1 and more chunky which I love and the battery life seems a lot better. I think the controllers are perfect.

And the IPD adjustment is great too, I have it on the highest setting and it's so clear! :)
