oh wow, my i5-2500k not good enough and i need more usb ports

but i think i've waited so long for it now i don't care much for it and will wait for vive then think about which i want

but am happy this thing is finally coming out now lol

It was just on my order confirmation page. It probably won't ship until later so I'm not expecting it in March.

that program is reading the default CPU stock speed thats why its saying that, mine is at 3.6 GHz running at 4.55 GHz and says mine also is not, silly really I am positive it wants people to buy new computers or buy there advertised computer they have in there program.

My friends Sons PC which was just bought this Christmas does not have USB 3 ports thats is compatible with his setup also its saying the same about my USB 3, going on about the driver etc .

My motherboard has ASMedia® USB 3.0 controller : *2
6 x USB 3.0 port(s) (4 at back panel, blue, 2 at mid-board) and the program says no !

go figure BTW I have bought one due for despatch March 28

Had similar USB message but quoted 1 of the usb by the network port.. other ones I know are compatible.. Said my 3770K and crossfire 280x weren't good enough either yet on futuremark its slaps the recommended spec by 3000+ points.

got support call in with oculus about preorder as I ordered whilst at work no email and then reordered when I got home.. went from march to may shipping.. >..<

Everyone expected the Rift to be around the 350-450 mark, HTC said it would be more than the Rift based on that assumption, so if that launches at $500-600, I and many others would probably switch orders in a heart beat. The funny thing is now though, even if they were going to launch at $450-500 they know without a doubt they could easily bump that up to $600 and still sell loads of them over the Rift.

Bear in mind HTC is not in a position to give away margin on what was undoubtedly a pretty expensive product to develop. Bundling the touch controllers and lighthouse stuff, I would be absolutely staggered if they brought it to market for less than the Oculus. I think 100-200 GBP more is likely.

So, not really followed VR yet but will there actually be any games to play on it yet? Do the games need to be written for VR or will it work with anything?

No, it has to include VR support. There is a crude way to make anything work, but it's not great. Built-in is the only way to go for a good (i.e. nausea free) experience.

And yes there will be games at launch, you get 2 in the box with pre-orders plus stuff like Project Cars, Elite Dangerous and Euro Truck Sim 2 already support VR.

Alien Isolation had a hidden VR mode which you can play the game with

I found DK2 wasn't good enough for extended play, but the finalised version might work properly.

Screw the CV1 price, I just bought Greg's DK2 from him! I think it'll be alright to give it a try

Quite good with the DK2 from personal experience, not a great deal of noticable lag to be honest it is quite snappy.

Ill be selling my DK2 I should imagine at some point. There will definitely be a market for them given theyll cost half of what the CV1 will cost and deliver a decent VR experience - especially for propellor heads. They are going to be making announcements about continued support so might wait for that.

It's just a simple program, mostly designed to stop people complaining like mad when it doesn't work.

Order processed fine and I got the confirmation e-mails. Now when I try to check the status of the order it says it doesn't exist. Ordered at about 16:03 too and got March, if it's dissapeared I'm going to be raging (and £500 richer).
