Its being *actively* worked on by the developer...thats him in the thread. Its working right now...not uber perfectly but yeah working....

So exactly what I said. It's not been updated yet and there's no indication as to when it will be. 0.9.1.0 Beta is the current version which does not support SDK 1.3.
I didn't say it wouldn't be updated or that it's not being worked on.

I use Vorpx and read their forums regularly. Don't roll eyes at me.

Been on my mind most of the day so phoned the bank again tonight.

Payment of £499 is not being sourced from PayPal but Oculus themselves? PayPal would say PayPal as per usual.

Checked my Oculus order and PayPal is the payment option.

Called PayPal they have no outgoing payments pending? Although a pre approved payment is set up for Oculus Ireland but not actioned yet.

Only thing I can think of of some kind of error on pre order day where it kept freezing on checkout and had to keep re-entering details again. PayPal kept failing so tried bank details and they just timed out. PayPal went through in the end, hence the pre approved being set up ready.

Only got one order number, so raised a ticket with Oculus to see if any duplicate orders or is someone trying it on with my bank details :confused: very :confused:

How strange - I had the same issue with the website... Keep us updated with any response!

Well i apologise for eye rolling but your comment was so surprising i even thought you were trolling lol .

I said there was vorpx and vireio you then said

^^ that gives the clear impression that nothing has or is being done and there is zero communication about it being updated or anything at all.

That is the impression you gave. So when i check the vorpx forums and find that no actually for some people 1.3 is working with vorpx and the developer seems to be in *constant* communication with users about it then you can understand my surprise....

Oculus got back to me saying that I have 2 orders a xxx26 which is my bank account and a xxx30 which was PayPal.

It was such craziness when the pre-orders launched, so the original order could have been easily dismissed as not successfully placed. I've seen this a few times.

They have cancelled (didn't consult me) the PayPal xxx30 one but its the xxx26 one that has forced that account into being overdrawn and causing me charges.

I knew nothing about this order as all emails from them was regarding the xxx30.

If they don't pay my bank charges then they can stick their Rift up their bum as the PayPal is linked to a different account with enough funds :mad:

Not my fault they had a shonky website and did not confirm orders as far as I was concerned it should have been processed through PayPal as per all my emails.

I am awaiting a reply.

Have you been checking the Vive thread lol they have are beset with issues as well. Comical launches from both.

I'm a xx26xx at +6minutes and I just got my "your order is being processed" email
it now looks as though Oculus aren't updating the "shipped" status until they update with the tracking number, but people are reporting theirs arriving before the tracking number gets added to the site

I've signed up for UPS mychoice so I should get an email from them when its booked on to ship

I thought you were saying that it could be used NOW, which it can't (easily). Vorpx will be updated soon according to the devs and the stuff you posted but it's not working now for anyone who has bought it and is outside of their internal testing.
My understanding (possibly incorrect) is that the guy who posted on Reddit is an internal tester and is showing it working to show that it is coming soon.

I was going to start a new thread, but this seems to be a good place to post it.

According to a report in The Independent, Oculus Rift headsets contain a piece of software that watches the user’s every move while they are suspending their disbelief in the land of virtual reality.

The software then reports back on the user’s activities to firms that want to target the user with advertising.

Of course, this is all in the Terms and Conditions, but with a recent study quoted by BBC online confirming only 27% of people read Terms and Conditions documents in full, will people realise?

Mainly what the software does is tracks how long each app and menu takes to open (so that they can track bugs within oculus home)

It also knows what apps youve bought and how long you use them for... steam does the same stuff and doesnt get the same click bait worry mongering

The bit about "user content" is for things like uploading your own avatar pics, reviews etc. Basically if you dont want to give them access to "your content" then just dont use the social features

The funny thing is Gizmondo have run a real hit piece on these terms, yet uses identical terms for its own social content platform

Durrrrr.... That sucks. I hope they haven't done something similar to me - I will send a message to customer support just in case as I had the same website issues as you when trying to order.
 
Hi all.

Having some issues with Oculus, just wondering if anyone on here has had a similar issue. Basically I pre ordered within 5 minutes. Got a 25 order number. All looking peachy. Alas the last 2 mornings I have woken up to an email saying they cannot process my order. Thinking it was an issue with my credit card I switched to PayPal after the first email. Then this morning I get the very same email. My address is correct except the state/province field is blank. Pretty sure that is not the issue. Problem now is I cannot update my details. When i click save nothing changes. Same with payment method though that did work yesterday. I just wish Oculus would let me know specifically what the issue is so I can correct it though I think the problem is actually at their end!

Lord knows whats going on. I have submitted a ticket to Oculus but un surprisingly have heard nothing. It is enormously frustrating as I cannot just phone someone. You have to go through the ticket process.

So just wondering if anyone has had similar issues with Oculus. Cheers.

After some investigation it turned out that the bank hold the address slightly different to what I was putting in, so the Oculus oupdate page should have been telling me the details were incorrect or don't match, but it isn't programmed that way.

Coincidentally my problem was with the State/Province field, as I write Tyne & Wear instead of Tyne and Wear. Hope this helps! :l

Oh. Ok. That's not good. Any suggestions how I can fill in the state/province field? Support are useless. Seems a bit extreme to delete the province from my bank details. In fact I'm definitely not doing that. Lol. Thanks for advice btw!!
 
Well Another day with NOTHING no money taken ect. Guess i wont get it b4 weekend then. My mate from Birmingham got hes HTC Vive on the way !!!!!
 
Lol, not sure what's going on here. My order now doesn't show as "Shipped". It now says "Preparing for shipping".

Hmmmm! Looks like it's a case of preferred customers getting the stock!
