Oculus Rift

There's some unboxed Kickstarter Rifts on ebay now, not preorder anymore, received Monday. One of them is asking for £1600.

Reason for sale:
I do not have a powerful enough PC to use it, otherwise I would keep it

Lol, yeah right :p

Let's be honest, he wanted to make over a £1000 profit and who can blame him. I missed that ship, I could also have pre-ordered and made a tidy profit.
 
This is meh. My order was declined by my Halifax cc because of possible fraud. Phoned Halifax and said it wasn't and all good but Oculus need to resubmit and no response from them :(

Bit of a mess launch really.

You're getting yourself so worked up about this, i hope you aint gonna be seriously disappointed with the CV1. I think the whole launch has been an absolute disaster. The launch software still has quite a few bugs and the way Oculus seem to operate its like another dev kit. Just my impression. I'm considering cancelling.

I thought you were saying that it could be used NOW, which it can't (easily). Vorpx will be updated soon according to the devs and the stuff you posted but it's not working now for anyone who has bought it and is outside of their internal testing.
My understanding (possibly incorrect) is that the guy who posted on Reddit is an internal tester and is showing it working to show that it is coming soon.

Yeah fair enough. I'm extremely disappointed with Oculus tbh. I think im out of this phase. Theres nothing out there that is the go to game that makes it worth spending £500 - £700.
 
Looks like my Rift is also due to turn up today O.o I'm at work so I'm going to miss the delivery though and I can't change it to a local depot for pick up. Boo hiss.
 
Another wakeup to disappointment here no bank charge no nothing. March delivery shame its 2017 march.
 
I may well sell my rift when it arrives now i have the vive coming, after seeing Giantbomb.com do both all day streams the buzz for the vive was in a whole different league to the "meh" of the oculus

I would try then sell if you are on the fence, with the scarcity at the moment I doubt having it out the box and used for a bit would impact the resale price much if at all.

I wear glasses (I used the swappable lenses with the DKs), and the CV1 is unusable for me with my current glasses.

My frames are 138mm wide and the padding grabs the arms and rams my specs into my face. Not only uncomfortable, but it causes instant fogging problems.

I've got some smaller frames on the way to test, but if you wear specs and their width is over 130mm, you might have issues.

Oculus were supposed to include an insert for those who wear glasses, but quietly dropped it at some point.

You're using it wrong... You are supposed to go for LASIK first.

I though that was a fairly ****** move, they very quietly dropped it just before launch iirc. I'm sure there will be various 3rd party options (or maybe even from oculus themselves), but they should really at least have included them with this pre-order batch since it was such a late change.
