Oculus Rift

Got my Rift yesterday, loving it! Affected is great, "fun".
Tried the ASW edit setting. Once set, is it permanent or do you have to set it each time you connect the Rift?
 
What are the VR cinema apps like on the rift? Legit ways to fully enjoy movies or just a gimmick? Is the resolution sufficient to give a real cinema-type experience?
 
Yeah, cinema really doesn't work very well. The resolution is too low and because you are watching something passively it becomes quite obvious.
When playing games the resolution isn't an issue because you are so caught up in the action.

Now I understand what the vive owners meant when they said "in" the game.
Also, since getting touch, I have found that I dont notice the low resolution anywhere near as much. Bonus!

Welcome to the party! I'm glad Rift owners now get to experience what us Vive owners have seemingly been harping on about for the last 6 months. :)

Seated experiences are cool, but this is a different level of VR altogether.

Ok i did an 8 minute segment. Of just me faffing around in Monstrum and acting like a wuss. No screaming..its bloody scary so i dunno if i will continue.

In a game like Monstrum the sound is what freaks you out the most...it might not come across that well in the video but all the weird noises you hear in the oculus headphones scare me ****less.

Its a pretty well done game for the Oculus. Reminds me a little of Alien Isolation (except better implemented)

Yes i know my microphone is borked on the recording :D I need to turn the gain down a little i think.

I'll do another video if people really want but im scared of this **** :(

I do have sony vegas 13 and photoshop 2015 i wonder if i can make use of them.
