Well, the Star Trek Bridge Crew E3 footage just sold me an Oculus Rift! Well played
but the anatech card says usb2...no response to the sensor in any slot.
VR Lens Lab are now selling frames that specifically fit inside VR headsets. Looks like quite a good idea as I'm currently using the adapters and it's a pain having to remove them when family/friends want to try the rift.

A word of warning on the VR Lens Lab lenses - be prepared for major barrel distortion. On the Vive adapters, the lenses are convex i.e. curve towards your eyes rather than away. Might be different on the Rift adapters, but I recommend checking before ordering.
I ordered the "premium RABS" lenses after doing some research and reading about the complaints - and yes, it still had tons of barrel distortion I'm afraid. Some people appear to get on better with them, but maybe it depends on the prescription (I'm -3.25 in both eyes). The simple fact is the lenses are fitted the opposite way round to what you'd have in regular glasses (they do this to keep the lenses as close as possible to the HMD lenses without touching), and you're going to get an inverted distortion doing that regardless. The barrel distortion is only on the adapters without the premium RABS lenses. The VR frames don't have that issue.
Finally took the plunge and dived in, should be here Tuesday. Any pointers on getting started or any 'must know/wish I'd known' type tips?
Ok great cheers. Any other tips?
Can I use my desktop on the rift or would I need an app?
Could I watch a regular film etc?
