Oculus Rift

If you're playing a lot of boxing games then a washable/wipeable cover for the Rift facial interface is essential for hygiene and protecting the Rift from sweat. I've got a couple of washable cotton covers from WidmoVR which I swap after each workout, or once a week if no workout, but others like the VR Covers products.

Also a thin head sweatband, and a fan pointed at your face really help manage the sweat.

Yeah I need something I sweet a lot on my face.

Do you know if the vr covers from amazon 2 for £20 are any good?

Thanks guys, I wasn't sure I had the right website or products.

I will order the £30 set at some point I do need it. I might get the prescription lenses at the same time or I might wait for my next eye test first incase my prescription changes.

Hopefully it will fit my head a bit better as well. It feels like my cheek bones are tilting the headset upwards and it seems quite hard to get it set right. My head is xl size, do you guys think the cover would help with the fit? Or is there another product that might help.

Probably teaching you to suck eggs, but I wore my rift for ages in relative discomfort before I realised the visor itself tilts up and down in the harness :D

As you know I'm new to the rift so it could just be me having straps set wrong or not knowing the settings or having plastic bit not in the correct position.

Here is my issue, when I do the line calibration thing it says move the headset upwards or downwards until line is clear and to get the lines clear I have to pull the headset lower down my face.

When the headset is lower down on my face it no longer fits flat on my face and my cheeks are pushing the bottom out so it ends up tilting upwards.

To get it sat right I think I will have to either add an extra 2cm padding along the forehead or cut away some along the bottom.

I was kind of hoping when I added a better cover like the ones from vrcovers it might fit better.

Do you think if I uploaded a couple of pics of my headset straps and with it on you could see where Im going wrong.

Here is a quick fitting guide.

Loosen all the straps on the Rift completely.
Put headset on, Make sure the base of the triangle of straps at the back of the headset is nearly touching your neck.
Hold the Face plate so the top of it is just above the eyebrows.
Tighten the Top strap as far as you can so that it's taking the weight of the headset but not moving it upwards on your head.
Now tilt the faceplate(visor) to suit yourself.
Then tighten the side straps, again, not too tight, just firmly enough to hold the headset in place.

The mistake most people make is having the back strap of the headset way too high. It should be as low as possible on the back of your head. This has two advantages, it's more comfortable and the sweet spot is larger when wearing correctly.

Might be some kind of Sale around Black Friday. I don't think it will ever go much lower than £399 apart from the odd sale. It's a great price for what you get, two sensors, touch controllers, headset and a load of free software and games.
