OCZ VERTEX 2E FIRMWARE 1.28 + GUIDE

Be VERY cautious about applying the latest updated firmware. I did and now my drive is dead after running great for almost one year. It died when it would not return from an S3 sleep.

There are many many posts like mine in the OCZ forum.

Whilst it might just be coincidence I certainly would not advise updating your drive to the latest if everything is running well. I now regret doing mine as I do not tend to do that sort of thing. :(

Wow, thanks for sharing this. I'm in my final year, and would hate to see something go wrong with my work! Thanks! Because of this I have made an extra backup!

Hopefully you might be ok. I too had pretty regular backups so I'm ok in that respect. Thankfully the very very good retailer that I bought the drive from a year ago allowed me to instantly exchange the bricked Vertex 2E for a brand new Crucial M4. So I'm chuffed with that. Not all retailers are so accommodating though.
