Its not rocket science. if you don't like the **** somebody posts, ignore them (there is a function for this) if you don't like this thread, why are you reading it?:p

Anyway, back O/T, I'm damn impressed with myself, just backed onto a loading bay in one doing a "Blind reverse" !

Anybody would think I do this for a living..... :o

I think someone tried to nick my number plate again last night, either that or it just 'fell off'. Any suggestions guys?

the police went round my neck of the woods and gave those screws to us for free, pretty clever (I'm amused by simple things!) and they definitely work, sure if someone wants your plates they will get them but these would no doubt put most toe rags off :)

I'll have a look, thanks Robbie.

Wish the police would do that round here, vandalism has been on the up recently!

Close this thread, but the problem with that is I see no real reason to do this. No rules breaks are evident.

If you really wanted to then it should be fairly simple to do, the whole thread is arguably spam so close it on that basis - Robert's your mother's brother, Fanny is his wife and job done. You may or may not have to give infractions/suspensions to everyone in the thread for posting spam.

I'm not suggesting this as being a good idea, just a possible solution if closing this thread would be felt to benefit the forum although it seems that for everyone complaining about the decline of the forum there is another to say it's much as it always has been.

I'm torn on the subject of this thread.

Has anyone considered that by collecting all of the *spam* from other threads into this one we're actually removing ' the good stuff' from the rest of Motors and by concentrating it in one place, it's losing it's magic?

Looking at the forum right now it's 1.16pm and at the bottom of page one there's 4 threads dated yesterday. I can't remember that ever happening before May 11.

People are coming onto the forum and looking for this thread for a chat/spam or to find out how much of a tip DM is going to give a waitress tonight and ignoring the core motoring threads.

As I've never met DM I'll reserve judgement on him. Infact, that applies to everyone I haven't met! :) Seems a bit like there's lots of haters queuing up to hate though :(... guess that's just jealousy, unless they've all met the bloke and know something I don't! :p
That said, I always get the feeling that he's nice, good intentioned, down to earth sort of man... just sometimes has one too many to drink. Though I didn't realise he'd been doing favours for people with jewellery and cars... guess that actually shows what a great community this place has :).

Anyways he's a self made man and not been born with a silver spoon in his mouth... can't argue with that :).

As people have have said, when sober he's great. People only have a problem when he's very drunk, then you get the half naked photos of his ex, the challenges for fights, the threats of violence, the crass 'im considerably richer than you' type talk etc. It's not jealousy in the slightest (from anyone), just an aversion to the attitude that makes an appearance under the influence.

Hopefully he'll come back from his holiday more chilled out and easy going because his late night activities with alcohol can mar the fantastic contributions he makes on and off the forum when he's sober.
