We'll all be on our 4th cars by the time he realises how deluded he is and drops the price to what its worth so I doubt you'll be getting anywhere with cheeky offers.

£18k for a 2003 M3, just rofl.

but marque wise are you content with an e46 as my choice? I'm aiming for 2005/06 with an inspection 2 just done, new discs and rear springs, probably around50-60k on the clock. 14-16k budget, realistic?

:D

Wow. If Fox says "no", are you going to forget about the E46 because he's said so??

Personally i think the E46 is too dated now to be worth £16k in any guise, including the M3. I think it's a bit of a rock and a hard place if you want an M3 at £16k, because it isn't enough to buy an E92/0 M3, but is far too much to be spending on an E46, which has the same basic design as a decade ago.

You must be proper bonkers if you spend £16k on that! It's a previous gen A4, that platform first came out 11 years ago!

If you want one buy one for £6k, £16k for one is bonkers, its an E46 3 Series generation car! If it was an S4 then perhaps I can see why you'd spend so much but it's not, it's got that tedious horrible 2.0 thing in it.

If you've got £16,000 to spend on a car why are you looking at stuff with engines as nasty as that anyway, what about a nice 2.0TFSI?

Thanks Fox. Not me looking at the car, I find it extremly boring and would never dream of owning a car like that. A friend wants an 'Audi' and a 'Diesel' for what reason I am unsure as he has a car that is off the road just now. But thats a different story.

I shall pass on the views, but I doubt he will listen.

More presents today:

Shiny red suspension stuff:

Oh, and my car came back from the bodyshop:

Smoothed out badges all round, front plate deleted, bumper side markers smoothed out, vary lip fitted, rear bumper without fog light, colour coded sills and rolled arches, black mirror tops and windscreen surround.

Seems to be a good thread for randomness, we're looking for a replacement SUV for the missus and at the weekend I had my mind boggled by the following:

GMC Yukon XL 2500HD 8.1L V8

For the princely sum of $9k with 85,000 miles on the clock.

So tempted to go epic, it's a monster although single-figure mpg through town and barely above that on the freeway, that said if we had any fires again it could probably pull our house away from it all :D

Sadly it got vetoed by the missus for being too unwieldy, the search continues :D

*edit*

Though at least it's a fun car hunt - she was giving serious consideration to this and putting pink hibiscus flower decals on the side panels, lol :p

Warning to those who receive their car back after a long period of standing still - Run the demist straight away!

My fault really, I got my car back last week after being with BMW since January and I had to use the Demist for the first time yesterday on the motorway. I should have tested/used them as soon as I got the car back because the moment I pressed the button the entire screen and side windows got covered in the thickest "mist" I've ever seen! So bad I could only see other cars on the road by their rear lights and as I was in the fast lane this made it impossible to change lanes! I simply slowed down until it cleared but that took almost a minute, was quite a scary moment being unable to see at 80+ on a busy motorway!

I guess the vents must have been full of condensation which got thrust up when it was on full power. So as a tip, always check your demist after you haven't used your car for a while.

My e38 used to do this - change the cabin/pollen filters.
