******* OFFICAL La Liga Thread *******

their first team is close to best in the world - some weak areas.

but their bench is weak.

when teams like man city, inter, ac milan, man utd, chelsea all have someone they can bring on and change a game, barcelona dont.

they need a plan B, ibrahimovich would have been perfect as a plan B, they should have kept him or at least sold him and got a replacement, they needed Villa anyway.

Thats how they drew against us at the emirates last year, They had that plan B and hoofted the ball to ibrahimovich to make it 2:0

Na, Wenger will just use that money to buy a couple of 10 year olds and pay them 30k a week on there training program(its a known fact arsenal pay stupid about of salary to there kids/reserves).

well its either pay your youngsters nothing and possibly have them snatched up cheaply by someone else or pay them highly for their loyalty.

either you guys move away from a youth system or you exploit it more, the fact your club is in england probably doesnt help, the majority of the youth of today would rather eat mc donalds and binge drink than knuckle down hard.

maybe thats why wenger's plan isnt working and will never work in the UK.

Having arguments on various LFC forums over this match lol, i dont get why they proceed to lick Maureen's rear end?

Anyway..

As a neutral and football fan, why on earth would anyone be happy for Madrids success?
I can see football like that in any game involving the 'usual suspects' in English football.
The boxing tactic equiv would be one guy running around the ring for all 12 rounds, no punches landed by either party. Who wouldn't want a refund after that crap?

I wouldn't for one. :)

Ale Madrid ale ale madrid ale ale ....

Anyway, according to them and their fans they were going to win by at least 5 goals. A bit less arrogance may be for the Champions League matches? ;)

It feels good wining something after 3 years anyway :D

i just thought of who barcelanone should buy - Cavani, the guy is a goal scoring machine and he can header with the best of them.

would be a great signing.
More likely to stay at Napoli i reckon. IIRC there is a buy at the end of loan clause there which Napoli will do especially if they get champions league. rumours about him coming to City though if Tevez leaves.

thats why i hate counter punchers, they basically wait for the other person to open themselves up, tactically it makes sense, but its extremely boring, i'd rather walk into a match or ring and give it my all and go down within the first round than not do much for the full hog and steal the win.

but winning = prizes, so you cant do anything to stop it.

Try telling that to 9/10 teams who play against arsenal and barcelona

regarding Casillas, he is underrated in England.

He has won every single trophy a player can win and made contributions in all competitions his team has won but he still gets some abuse.

What about Marcelo? According to DrunkenMaster he can't defend... LOL :D

His consistency has been a problem.
He's much more mistake prone then some of the other top keepers, but when it clicks he's one of the best.
An upgrade on Gomez if you will ;)

theres much better left backs than marcelo, he has pace which is a good thing, but i see him as a weaker version of dani alves but on the left, i think he is good on the left side but not good enough to be at real madrid, he's a bit like yuri zhirkov at chelsea, good at a few things but master of none, he would be great to use as a sub, i would rather have evra or abidal.

I'd argue he makes as many errors a season as Reina does ;)

I'm very happy that Real Madrid won, it would just be boring if Barcelona steamrolled everyone all the time :)

I do like Ronaldo as well, take Messi down a peg or two (as superb as Messi is) ;)

Marcelo has improved from a so-so player which could defend for toffee and was average at attacking to an amazing attacking force which can defend alright. I don't really know who is better than him right now as full back on the left. Please don't mention Cashley! :)

Casillas has had a couple of average seasons (09-10) in general but he seems to be picking up since the world cup. He has never been amazing in the air but has improved sligtly and its now decent there. His shot-stopping abilities are some of the best but his one on one abilities are the best I have ever seen in my life.

Comparing him to Gomez though... :D

I can't see a better keeper than Casillas at the moment. And if there is one, he surely doesn't play in England! :D

Evra, Abidal, Clichy, Lahm.... didn't mention Cashley? :)

Casillas is indeed a good keeper, a great one, but there are other keepers that are just as good imho, there hasn't been an outstanding World's best keeper since the decline of Buffon :) (who I still feel is just as good as Casillas)

Just my two cents, Gomes is a clown :p

I don't rate Abidal at all tbh. Is he still at Barca?

What happened to the Mexican CB / DM they had a couple of years ago? He was class?
