Abidal is very good, but out due to an operation on cancer!

The mexican is Marquez. He isn't that good tbh. Same as Maxwell.

He's recovering to an op to remove cancer. Could be back quite soon if whispers are to be believed.

Marquez and Maxwell are "alright" decent squad players.

Abidal is a top draw defender though, not so good going forward and much more a CB then a LB :p but still, Barca do miss him.

Yeh, had a serious operation not long ago.
I think he is quality, not as forward as Alves but is a good all round defender with pace.
Plays for NY Red Bulls.
 
Massively disappointed that Real won the Copa del rey...watched most of the game but felt that Barca couldnt take advantage of their chances...Villa is just pure utter rubbish, hes been off form for quite a few games now...bit like Torres...

Meh Real wont win the La Liga and neither will they beat Barca in the CL...tbh i dont think Barca are all that bothered about losing the copa del rey..

Cant stand that knobber Mourinho, such an arse albeit a great arse he is:p
 
Villa is far from poor just lack of confidence now.
They sold Ibra because he didn't pull his weight. He is lazy and lack lusture look at the effort the front 3 put in closing down people. Its more than just goals needs the work ethic as well and he fits the mould.

They were silly to let eto go probably the best striker in Europe but behind scenses was destructive. The problem they have is that the starting 11 when abidal (who is great btw) and puyol are back not many players will get in the squad to get a chance.

They do need an impact sub and affelay might be that person but he is new to squad and adjusting and needs the game time.

I wonder if de stefano is happy with the win even though it wasn't in the Madrid way.

I really don't get this sudden thinking that everyone has to be best friends, hows that working out at Arsenal? Ditched Gallas, one of Spurs best performers all year, because people didn't love him......... so the hell what.

Are Barcelona doing better than they were 2 years ago, no, worse infact and progessively getting worse I would say each season, not massively, just a bit.

Players don't even have to like each other, its a job they are paid to do.

Arsenal have been ditching the less liked members of the squad for several years, and we seem to be getting a more comftable squad that are less capable of winning games. Sometimes everyone being great friends doesn't induce the best enviroment for the best performances.


Real were woeful in the second half, and the first half showed so clearly for anyone that wants to beat Barca, the best form of defence, is attack. They had Barca on the back foot, because they were attacking, the midfield and the defence were all 10-15 yards higher up the pitch than the second half, that meant interceptions, getting to the loose ball and closing down was way easier.

Second half they dropped off and got overwhelmed. Real did more dirty fouling than Barca, but then Barca cheated more than Real, starting to quite dislike Barca for diving. Busquets is a god damned disgrace, as is Mascherano, he caused contact with Adebayor by stopping and leaning into his path, he basically fouled Adebayor then went down clutching his face, then after a yellow was given he went after the ref asking for a red card.


Mourinho, no idea what his tactics are, first and second game both went for the same tactic, the defend at all costs, attack when its too late idea, stupid. THen Adebayor proved to be a not at all bad target man for the setup from the last game, so he puts Ronaldo upfront, completely on his own with no support rather than the much more effective last game Ronaldo in midfield with Ade upfront.

Khedira had completely given up running/closing about 10 mins into the second half, is Diarra injured/banned for something, most of the team was shattered with a half hour of normal time to go and he still didn't make changes.
 
It helps massively if everyone gets on. Xavi himself said the team spirit and bond is huge amongst them they all want to work for each other and succeed.

Its one of the biggest things pep has done since getting there, the team travel to individuals events to show support for each other.

Wouldn't say they have got worse either. They won 6 trophies in 1 season never going to do that again, won league last 3 seasons? Done well in champs league there or there abouts and made it to another cup final.

Good chance they may make it to another champions league final and all but have the league in their hands I wouldn't call that bad?

They do lack depth though but they also don't have bundles of money like real who have spent €350m just to catch up!

Champion leagues games will be interesting not sure how Jose will go about it, 1st league at home for them and a slender 1-0 isn't going to be enough is it so he has to go for it more in that leg to defend at camp nou.
