***Official 2010 F1 thread***

I thought this would happen, happy for Fisi - bigger competition for points places for the rest of the year

Fisi can show flashes of greatness and then othertimes can just disappear into the midst (huge improvement over Badoer though)

I'm honestly surprised - a) that Fisi jumped ship just as Force India were seemingly coming good and b) that he'd want the Ferrari drive given that as far as we know right now it'll only be to the end of the season. Kimi isn't confirmed as leaving Ferrari/F1 at the end of the year yet, Massa will hopefully race again....unless a rule change allows three cars again then one driver is going to be left out in the cold.

Monza is where Ferrari traditionally announce what's going on with them for the next season, hopefully we'll get some answers there.

Bad news for Force India, he clearly made the most of their small bidget package last weekend and showed other F1 teams what can be done without all the resources in the world.

Fisi had his chances in other big teams and wasn't terribly consistent. He should have stayed put tbh.

I'm honestly surprised.

Me too. Especially at this:

"We would like to stress that we have not agreed any financial settlement with Ferrari and would like to thank Giancarlo for all his help over the past one-and-a-half seasons and for our first world championship points."

Considering he's been denying all the roumers and speculation up untill now (Mallya) I wouldnt be supprised if Ferrari have payed up a fair bit of money (secure force inda for next year, or something to do with the old engine deal)

Dont you guys think that this is the nail in coffin for Alonso to Ferrari and means Kimi is out? I know there is great kudos for an Italian to race at Monza in a ferrari... But with FI coming togetherand getting good results, would he move unless he was confirmed for next season also?

Force India apparently still owe money to Ferrari for their engine package last year. Easiest way to reimburse them is to simply wipe out that debt.

It's been said that Fisi will be their reserve/test driver (which right now means 8 straight line tests a year) for 2010. In a way it's probably a good move for him, in all honestly he probably only had another year in him anyway and I'm sure that the post of Ferrari Reserve/Test pays better than that of FI driver. He could also have a long future in that roll - something retired race drivers need to think about, you can't stay in F1 forever.

Renault have confirmed that they are reintroducing KERS at Monza. Since they will not be racing next year, there is no danger of their breaking the 2010 "Gentleman's Agreement" not to use KERS next year :D

Going to make Q3 a real scrap imo

McLaren, Ferrari and Renault all with KERS, Red Bull with probably the best car atm (albeit potential engine issues), Brawn who knows - plus Toyota possibly, a Willaims(s) and or BMW

More big names to fall in Q1 / Q2

opppss appology shouldnt have put this in the 2010 thread

Around most tracks, but not at Monza. It's not got a Mclaren Engine in it :D
I'll be amazed if this one isn't won by either Kimi or Hamilton. Ofcourse anything can happen in F1, and as Murray used to say - it usually does!
Ferrari and Mclaren will be quick, and I think Brawn and Force India should be a good watch too. I expect Alonso to qualy well on fumes with some ninja KERS usage :p

and mclaren "stole" vodaphone from ferrari, so this makes them even?;)

And they may get Alonso too *depends on if there's a ban/removal of superlicense after the hearing*

With the rumours of Raikkonen heading back to McLaren it's heading towards the silliest of sillyseasons for a while. Although Hamilton and Raikkonen sounds like a great team lineup to me.

i thought Kimi was leaving f1? I mean since winning the WDC he ain't impressed me at all, yet he used to be one of my favorite drivers out there.
