Dont forget that the meeting in question took place on the morning of the race, after starting fuel loads had already been submitted to the FIA.I suspect that there are VERY few F1 drivers who are simply told the planned strategy for a race, get in the car and follow that strategy without understanding the thinking behind it - Raikonnen may be a rare exception .
I would find it very surprising if someone as professional as Alonso didn't have extensive discussion about strategy with the team before a race. I suppose that there is a remote possibility that he and his engineer decided on a strategy and then Briatore, Symonds and Piquet hatched a plan built around that strategy to "gift" Alonso first place without making him aware of their plans but it is pretty far-fetched to be honest.
However, whatever happens is certain to be based only on what can be proven and Alonso may escape yet again.
