Not really. Texas Motor Speedway is near Fort Worth, not Austin.

I meant Texas being NASCAR country.;)
 
Again, though....it really isn't. We had nearly 50 years of NASCAR racing before they started building Texas Motor Speedway.

North Carolina is NASCAR country. Not Texas.

Maybe in parts. But certainly not all over the state, and certainly not in Austin.

NC, Alabama, Georgia, Virginia....that's where the majority of the old-school NASCAR fanbase is. And Daytona, Florida of course....but they like pretty much anything with wheels that goes fast.
