The Ferrari looks a real handful this season, and I doubt they will want to re-design the car completely around Alonso ...
They won't need to totally redesign the car for Alonso, though Alonso will have greater input with the future direction the car develops. Remember, if you are hiring Alonso, you expect him to get the most out of the car, without any changes. He did this at Renault, moved to McLaren (new team, new car) and was immediately challenging for the title. He then moved back to Renault and was immediately (much) faster than his teammates.
If you hire Alonso or Hamilton, then you should have higher expectations, otherwise you would've stuck with Kimi or hired a lesser driver. As such the salary paid to the Alonso/Hamilton would logically be higher.
When JB has No1 on his car, especially with a change of team mate to a less experienced one (which is important generally and during the design /testing /setup stage during the winter) it would be very strange for Brawn as a team to favour the less experienced member of the two in the same way they have with Rubens recently.
Hehehe. I'm glad someone agrees with what Alonso said - while he was at McLaren, that he should've received preferential treatment over the rookie.
What you say is correct -the more experienced driver is usually given preferential treatment, but it should be very interesting to see how Rosberg adapts. If Rosberg believes in his ability, then he will have to beat Button at his own game and perhaps alter his driving style slightly.
Brawn himself has said on numerous occasions this season he didnt even realise just how good a driver JB is , until he was inside the team - praise indeed from someone so well respected in the field.
Well, it was highly unlikely that Brawn would come out and state, "I'm surprised how crap JB is. I am genuinely dissapointed."
The job of a manger/boss is to boost the confidence of his employees (note R.Denis in 2007 did not do this) and as such get the most out of them. Telling an employee that they are crap (when they are performing poorly - which Button has during the latter half of this season), would be just plain wrong.
JB was fantastic in the first half of the season. There is no doubt about it. The problem seems to be the fact that Button can't adapt to changes in his car performance. So, when his car is performing really well, he does very well. When the car begins to go off, he seems lose serious amounts of performance, where his team-mate is able to manage a car which is performing less than well.
Button has also shown that he is massively susceptible to pressure.
Rosberg would make a great partner, but there is absolutely no reason to believe now why he would even be close to JB in the same car.
Awww. You have too much faith in Button. Lets just wait and see. I don't rate Rosberg too highly and the same goes for Button, so I think it should be a very close battle from mid season onwards (after Rosberg has used the first half of the season to adjust to the new car/team).
