***Official 2010 F1 thread***

Wouldn't you want to keep the wider front wings and have smaller rear wings?

Nope, I think the massive front wings discourage drivers from having a stab up the inside. We've seen plenty of broken endplates this year.

i vote for biiiig engines liiiitle wings, fit them with doors so they can fly open just for fun.

they should try to lose more on the wings and bring back fat rear tyres so they can follow even closer.

Intimidation and unsavoury behaviour, round 4.

Yes, the Fail On Sunday is involved (suggested slogan: "not quite as idiotic as the Grauniad, but close"). But like the last few rounds, this does seem exactly like the sort of thing you'd expect from Mad Max's cadre.

People will take Todt's now almost inevitable appointment as FIA President as Yet Another Example Of Pro-Ferrari Bias™. That much is guaranteed, unfortunately. Still, not a whole heap I can do about that so I might as well sing from the same hymn sheet. Ferrari International Assistance*!

* - except when Renault do something hugely objectionable, in which case Renault International Assistance!

What I don't understand.. is why the hell Todt is even allowed to stand as President.. when he's had connections with Ferarri. Thats a conflict of interest surely?

If Ari were to become President do we all agree that he might end up making some drastic changes to the F1 regs? or is he not allowed to do that from his position..?

I really hope someone stops this going on and doesn't allow Todt to get in charge.
How on earth can the FIA claim to be honest with the way they are going about this election against Vatenen?

Its got nothing to do with ferrari bias, it's todt bias. They cut the other guy out of the running with threatening behaviour towards anyone that voted for him and excluding him from any Fia events.

Yep Max maybe going but all he's done is make sure one of his cronies gets in place instead. Instead of someone who actually wanted to shake things up for once.

Todt shouldn't get it, he's bound to have a ferrari bias and who would blame him after dedicating most of his later years to building such a successful team. Anyone would find it hard not to have bias when you have that much of your life invested in a team.

Doesnt the fact that Vatinens name is being dragged through the mud just go to show the character of Todt and his supporters?

i.e. Cheating dirty gits.

Who cares.

Donnington was never going to happen. Silverstone doesn't deserve a race. Give it to Zolder or Kyalami or Zandvoort or even that new Portugese circuit in the Algarve.

In other news the Pope has been found to be Catholic and Bears **** in the woods :p

Did anyone ever really think they were going to raise the money for this? Let alone get the work done on time!!

Back to Silverstone then. Think Donington has found itself to be the latest pawn in Bernies games with the BRDC, he probably knew damn well they would never stage the race + they've now shot themselves in the foot giving the Moto GP away chasing this pipe dream.

Not sure about the Portuguese track, will look it up.

I'd rather they give the race back to Austria. That was always the most excitng race for over taking on the calendar. Or Estoril was also a great track.

Couldn't give a stuff about a British GP. Its cheaper to go abroad and watch one inclusive of flights and hotel than it is for a sunday pass at silverstone.

Are any of Zolder, Kyalami or Zandvoort currently likely to be able to pay Ecclestone's inflated charges to run a Formula One race?

I suspect that Ecclestone would very much have liked to run the British F1 GP at Donington Park - on his terms.

I also suspect that for commercial reasons, Ecclestone is still keen to have a British F1 GP and is not exactly overjoyed that his gamble hasn't paid off and he will either have to go back to the BRDC cap in hand or find some rich and stupid suckers elsewhere in the world.

I walked around Donington a couple of weeks back and it was MILES from being close to being half ready for a GP in 2011 let alone 2010. The tunnel area they had built flooded and collapsed the day before the Euro Series race meet and they VERY nearly had to cancel it and since then they have moved some mud but sod all else. Simon Gillett was becoming an utter joke and even an embarrassment sounding more like a politician with his inability to answer a question so I am not surprised it has failed. Sad though as Silverstone is the worst circuit in the UK from which to spectate not least as I remember it before it became a Stalag. Mind you I also remember when the spectator area ran along the track through the Craner curves, without fencing!!
