***Official 2010 F1 thread***

So, Bernie Ecclestone coughs up £12 million so as not to have to go back to Silverstone cap in hand with his tail between his legs / cap in hand :D

Not much use without the £120m or whatever Donnington actually need to complete all the work required (ok thats like being able to find £100 for Bernie lol)

Rosberg has confirmed that he will be leaving Williams after this weekend's grand prix. No big surprise there then.

Hasn't said where he will be going yet.

Ran looking for this thread this morning as i wanted to say it too!

It almost has to be a merc powered team (i couldnt see him in a toyota really) but which one is the exciting bit! My moneys on Brawn, almost as he would be too good a challenge for hammy at McLaren...

He's probably already signed with another team. Soon after the final GP of the season, his new team will reveal him as their 2010 driver.

Could it be BrawnGP?
Could it be McLaren?

I'm going to guess McLaren.
Kimi to go to Toyota since they will probably let him do Rally races during the season.

Bernie has been prattling on about Donnington again.

He says it's not happening.

Bernie - Just do what You've wanted to do for years and give it to a middle or far eastern country for oddles of cash and then blame it on Silverstone for not being reasonable.

Kimi was made an offer by mclaren but reports suggests the money isn't high enough. If toyota then get kimi, toyota have made a huge mistake taking a driver thats passing up wins for money.

Lets face it kimi is well past the driver that used to sit in a mclaren. Toyota are the only team on the grid that would pay him more than 8-10 million for the return he will give them.

I'd love the old Kimi to return but I think he's achieved all he wanted and now it's just topping up the balance before going to spend the rest of his life having fun. He clearly doesn't enjoy F1 that much.

Kimi now saying that Toyota isn't an option and he is only interested in McLaren if he is going to remain in F1

You think? Kimi has been awesome in the second half of the season - highest scoring driver in a car that's not the best. He's totally still on it and I expect to see him at McLaren.

Actually, Hamilton is the highest scoring driver in the 2nd half of the season.

I will agree with you though - Kimi has done well and has been very consistent.

His last 7 finishes: 2 3 1 3 10 4 6

Totalling 44pts I think. Has anyone done better? Lewis scored 40 I think... Go back 9 races and Kimi just picks up an extra point.

wont be long until all the races are in some rich playboy area on dull tracks where most real fans cant afford to go.

when i was a little boy i remember watching formula one races where the tracks had awesome woodland scenary now they are all turning into to boring desert tracks or boring street circuits.

bring back places like hockenheim , canada etc.

i dont give a rats ass if they dont have billion pound luxury places for sponsors and vip's to hand out at.

or if the tracks look a little run down aslong as the scenary is good and the races arent dull to watch because every corner and every straight almost looks the same.

on a lot of newer tracks you cant even tell what corner it is from most angles.

tracks may aswell be made out of prefab straights and corners all completly flat

I quite like Hockenheim. Long straights and plenty of overtaking opportunities.

I remember last year when Hamilton had a fantastic race there; he was like a Rottweiler overtaking people at will.

If Rosberg goes to Brawn, does anyone think that it will be the nail in the coffin for McLaren and Merc? Don't understand why Merc would leave McLaren for Brawn (going by what was said on BBC)?
