***Official 2010 F1 thread***

And if the big teams would have agreed to a budget this would not be happening.

Indeed, they all need a big slap and to admit the Max has been right all along. Way back in 2004 ish Max was banging on about the unsustainability of F1, its inability to withstand an economic/oil shock, its need to reinvent itself to be more relevant to a new less affluent and more environmentally aware world... did anyone listen? No.

Max was fundamentally right and all he get was flack.

surely ferrari arent scared of those "lesser" teams they are whining about? are they scared incase all the noobie teams beat them?

No. These news teams do not add any credibility to F1 as the average fan will no know who they are (except Lotus and as said by the PR they are not the same Lotus team that took part in F1 previously). Plus Ferrari would prefer to beat big teams like Toyota, BMW and Honda, rather than Manor, Campos etc...

I bet Ferrari would prefer Aston Martin (Prodrive) in instead of any of the other new entrants. I know I would.

F1 is about racing not some big company with an agenda (BMW, toyota etc), i for one welcome these lesser teams!
Lets not forget Ferrari started out this way.

"Founded by Enzo Ferrari in 1928 as Scuderia Ferrari, the company sponsored drivers and manufactured race cars before moving into production of street-legal vehicles in 1947 as Ferrari S.p.A.. Throughout its history, the company has been noted for its continued participation in racing, especially in Formula One, where it has enjoyed great success."

Lets not forget Ferrari started out this way.

Ferrari "started out" in Grand Prix racing by operating the Alfa Romeo works team, effectively. Once the Formula One World Championship started they were one of the full-blown grandee Italian manufacturer teams alongside Alfa and Maserati.

If you want to see real hypocrisy, examine the WilliamsF1 stance on customer cars....

Tell me more.

Got their start in F1 running March customer chassis, Ford DFV engine, Hewland (I think?) gearbox, and now oppose the use of customer chassis completely.

***edit***

Actually, thinking about it - maybe even a customer Brabham for Piers Courage before the March days.
