Definitive season prediction based off of one qualifying session: pretty much business as usual with RBR leading Ferrari, except Aston Martin have the potential to become a nuisance for Mercedes for the third place spot.

No luck for Hulkenberg in the end. Hope to see him do well in the race.
Stroll has been looking pretty average in that car. Wonder how long he'll go before crashing into someone tomorrow.
Stroll will definitely be the points difference preventing AM from getting 3rd (assuming they're consistent).

Lol, that was such a boring era. A handful or races where the two raced each other, but ultimately completely ran away from everyone else.

Way more exciting now, especially in the midfield.

Oh yeah mid field is great. Last year was my favourite for a while with alpine and mclaren. But had no interest in the front

The front of the pack is rarely interesting, unfortunately. If Ferrari used their brain, last year could have been more exciting.

Same **** as last year then, red bull drastically ahead and probably won’t have reliability issues to start the year

Basically.

As great as AM gains are. I expect RBR to be consistently clear. Thus 3 teams will be fighting for best of the rest. Actually helping RBR

The Merc two were trolling Q2 with what looked like decent pace but they’re the 4th fastest team right now.

It’s going to take something remarkable for this to not be Max’s 3rd WDC.

Can’t see myself getting into it this year.

Maybe same for me. I almost signed up for a year with F1TV Pro. But decided to do monthly as may well end up not keeping it whole year.

Mainly actually due to alpines damp driver line up.

Relies on Lance getting the points as well, else merc will get third easily

Can't see why the team that gets it right is in any way bad for the season, after all Mercedes and Ferrari have all had their day also. Gives the other teams a target to aim for and it's up to them to step up to the mark.
The race could easily be a different matter..

At least the Aston pace so far is genuine and should provide something new to chew on if they can keep it up, Merc likely beat them over a season since they don't have a Stroll to worry about (though he is probably doing what the car is capable of and Alonso is just doing Alonso things, so fair enough).

Lets hope Ferrari don't have another fragile car this year since Leclerc at least looks to be in striking distance in quali.

Interesting to see if anyone has a "race day car" again this year.

Given that Stroll missed testing, and has an injured wrist, I thought he did pretty well today.
I get that, but he'd probably do better if he rested his hand. He's going to lose points for the team tomorrow.

He's raced this circuit before but between his hand and the fact that he's below average for F1, I'm not surprised.
