If Alonso is in a fight with Max. You can bet he won't back down and Max will have a problem..
It will be very interesting to see what the Max fanboys make of that.
Same **** as last year then, red bull drastically ahead and probably won’t have reliability issues to start the year
Indeed. Amazing what some extra cash for the first year of a reg change can do for a team! ;)

I’ve got a lot of house stuff to get done tomorrow, will hopefully get to the pub for Sunday lunch and back in time for this. (Don’t think the pub show it)

Count me as one of those quite disappointed in McLaren. I thought Piastri was supposed to be the second coming? ;)

Think tyre efficiency is the only unknown. All Merc can hope for really.

The RB does look dominant.

Might be the RB is simply too fast, but Hamilton will get as close as is feasibly possible with his machinery and Ferrari and Aston seem to have a viable package too.

There’s only 6-8 tenths or so across various teams and drivers in the top 10.

My hope is we can have some interesting racing up at the front rather than a best of the rest championship. I guess time will tell!

I think Ferrari are going to struggle in the race tomorrow. Whilst quick, it looks a real handfull to drive. I can see it going through tyres very rapidly.

All the cars around them look a lot more planted.

My prediction is potential fireworks. Or an upset by alonso or leclerc in opening lap. But that rbr get a clear. 1,2 over the race distance and we can all have a rant after about how boring the year will be.

My only hope is alonso in the AM has the race pace to spice up the front.

If its true about ferrari I don't see anyone else with a hope of challenging RBR.

Hope mid field gets enough coverage!

Red bull have a good qualifying and that's it all over for some people here. You have to laugh.
Indeed just goes to show how unhealthily invested some here are :(

Personally I thought it was quite a decent first qualifying - only something like 1.2 seconds covering the whole grid.

Thanks I will give this season a miss and come back next year.
Might as well come back in 2026 or whenever the next set of regs are, if you believe the doomsayers in here, just because their team isn't winning.

The same people would be perfectly happy with the time difference to pole position, if it was a different colour car occupying the spot.
It is close to the front, and the top teams are not going to be standing still all year. We don't know what will happen in the race either. A bad start, not working as well with high fuel load, not turning certain tyres on... You just don't know yet.
Not being a Mercedes fan, I don't see this qualifying as boring. I'm just hoping Aston can keep developing that car, and Ferrari graduate out of clown college this year.

I'm hoping the Merc is more consistently fast in the race compared to qualifying like they were last year. They got outqualified by some midfielders fairly frequently last year but still ended up comfortably 5th and 6th in terms of pace for most races.

If that's the case, and the notion that Ferrari's tyre is awful is true, the Mercs may well beat the Ferraris in the race.
