Stroll got a 5 second penalty for punting Ocon off.

Can't see Zak wanting to replace either of his driver's with Hamilton. Fought and paid hard for Piastri and Lando is arguably the most in demand driver on the grid currently.

Ah, OK. I must have missed that one. Glad he got something. His first brush with Gasly I could forgive, but the second was just like a kid driving bumper cars.

Yeah - I agree re McLaren but stranger things have happened. It might be that Piastri moves on and Lewis jumps over. I think both Norris and Piastri will have options, but if anything, I can see Norris sticking with McLaren more so than Piastri. Although Norris in a red bull would be v.v. exciting! Don’t think it will happen though. RBR just want a wing man rather than a contender.

Is there ever between teammates?

They're your number one rival, and the person you need to beat above all.

I just get the impression it is a bit more frosty than most.

I do get it. George has a lot to prove, but brazenly saying your teammate didn't deserve their place on the podium is getting rather nasty, even if it was sort of true.

I mean, if George benefitted from the safety car, you can bet he'd be alluding to making the right call on staying out.

I mean you could argue George's start on the soft was the bad choice this time around.

I wouldn't be massively surprised if Red Bull win every race this season. And if they do, i can honestly see them keeping Perez as why rock the boat with someone who would be faster but tangle with Max?

You might be right, it has seemed increasingly obvious they would look to boot Perez out at the end of the season but as long as they win both championships, what else is there but to secure P2 in drivers, is that worth the disharmony that a e.g Russell or Norris could cause fighting max? I think it is also the case that Max still has a very big petulant side to him but it's largely tempered at the moment with his success, if he had a teammate pushing and harassing him then maybe a few mistakes would creep in.

Hard to tell if you’re 13 or not with your posting style, spelling and grammar etc but I’ll try and break it down for you anyway:

Albon - only just now showing any sort of form

Gasly - fast but inconsistent

Danny Ric - underperformed at McLaren

Sainz - Can’t keep the car out the wall

Vettel - Couldn’t live up to anything after Red Bull, won his championships because of Red Bull

Kyvat - Fast over one or two laps but other then that poor.

Perez - Bang average his whole career.

They’re an exceptional team, that’s just reality. Not all elite drivers can actually cut it at the top, that’s fact.

Unsurprisingly, Jonney had no comment. Everyone hates logic after all. :p

Just watching the Mansell Red 5 documentary. In one season, with 3 races to go, Mansell, Piquet, Senna and Prost were all still in the running to win the championship. These days we get excited if there are a few overtakes!

There were dominant cars in that era too. Mansell himself drove one.
And cars were much more unreliable compared to now It wasn't unheard of for 3-5 cars to retire due to mechanical issues every race. The cars were much further apart in performance than they are now as well. Sometimes there were only 3-4 cars on the lead lap and finishing times were often 30+ seconds. Rose tinted glasses to the fore here.

Mathematically, if Max continues to win every race when is the season finished by?

Making 3 assumptions, firstly Max wins with the fastest lap bonus and Perez, as the current driver in 2nd in the championship, comes 2nd in all the races. Max wins in 7 races (Qatar). Assuming Max would DNF remaining 5 with Perez winning, Max would win with 437 to Perez's 412. Lastly, the assumption is I've done some quick maths correctly :D

It's not hard to think Max will win every race short of a mechanical issue but it is harder to think Perez will finish 2nd which will only make it earlier.

Races left 12

A win with fastest lap = 26 points
2nd = 18 points
Points difference per race = 8

Max current points = 255
Perez current points = 156
Points difference in championship = 99

So;
Given 'n' is the number of races we want to find
26 points x (12 races left - n races) = 99 points ahead + (8 points gained per race x n races)
or; 26(12-n) = 99+8n
312 - 26n = 99 + 8n
Swapping the numbers and 'n' terms over
213 = 34n
so n= 213/34
or n = 6.26 races so 7.

Max: 255 + (7*26) = 437
Perez: 156 + (5*26) + (7*18) = 412

Exactly, its the perfect scenario for him. He has no challengers inside or indeed outside the team right now. If anything i could see him getting bored and doing a Rosberg after a couple of seasons if nothing changes.

I really enjoyed that race. It has to be the best this season so far, by a long way. 8/10 for me.

Although the safety car was a bit boring, it gave me a chance to refill the drinks and then a little bit of excitement came when the race resumed.

There were some great battles. I'm not a fan of Norris, I typically see him in a miserable/whiny mood, but I couldn't help smile for the lad and cheer him on today.

Shame GR's race strategy wasn't the best but still a good result for the lad. Can't forget to give a nod to Piastri for a good race and also recognise the improvements from Williams.

Great race!

Well isn’t Riciardo testing the car this week or something?
I'd love for this to happen but i really can't see them wanting to upset things.. However i guess you have the other side of the garage to also think about. Must suck to see the other side of the garage whoop you every race. (I know they're on the same team but they're also only human.)

I find most elite sportsman in any sport have their moments where they're dislikeable. It comes with the territory to a certain degree. They dehumanise themselves somewhat in the pursuit for excellence, what sets them apart from many other people. Obviously F1 is slightly different in that you sometimes get pay drivers too but mostly still relative.
How come lando is likeable? His a brilliant driver
