Personally I'm finding Russell more and more unlikeable, not that I was ever his biggest fan.nut he seems to have got worse.

I find most elite sportsman in any sport have their moments where they're dislikeable. It comes with the territory to a certain degree. They dehumanise themselves somewhat in the pursuit for excellence, what sets them apart from many other people. Obviously F1 is slightly different in that you sometimes get pay drivers too but mostly still relative.

He seems to be massively competitive with Lewis. I sort of understand, but at the same time I think he needs to reign it in a bit as he's coming across badly.

I don't think there is much love lost between them to be honest.

Is there ever between teammates?

They're your number one rival, and the person you need to beat above all.

I wonder if Lewis will be driving for them in the 2024 season if this performance boost has some longevity? It’s where he started - maybe that’s where he wants to finish.
Maybe the delay in Lewis’s talks were so he could see how well their upgrades worked? Doesn’t seem that far fetched. I can’t see McLaren getting rid of either driver though. But perhaps Norris would jump at the chance to replace Perez, which opens the seat for Lewis. Would be crazy if so.
I want some of the what the 7/10’ers are smoking.
Two British drivers fighting for P2 at Silverstone with 10 laps remaining — which in the context of this season might as well be called P1. What’s not to like? It’s probably the best we’ll get all season.

To be honest he was a massive suck-up to Lewis when he first joined. Maybe someone has had a word now that Lewis is doing better than him, and reminded him that he needs to prove himself a bit and stop looking so pleased to be there. Because at the moment he’s a number two driver in a midfield team. He’s also probably mighty pee’d off at getting the dream contract with Mercedes only for them to drop right out of contention for the championship. It’s probably a drivers worst nightmare. I don’t mind him though, but he is a typical posh boy through and through :p

Really happy for McLaren and a great job by their drivers. I wonder if Lewis will be driving for them in the 2024 season if this performance boost has some longevity? It’s where he started - maybe that’s where he wants to finish.

Generally an OK race. Not sure how Stroll avoided penalties. George seems proper bitter at Lewis’s podium.
Stroll got a 5 second penalty for punting Ocon off.

Can't see Zak wanting to replace either of his driver's with Hamilton. Fought and paid hard for Piastri and Lando is arguably the most in demand driver on the grid currently.

Just watching the Mansell Red 5 documentary. In one season, with 3 races to go, Mansell, Piquet, Senna and Prost were all still in the running to win the championship. These days we get excited if there are a few overtakes!

Agreed. I also think Merc should remember Lewis was only up there because of the SC. Without it, where would he have been 5/6th at best? Their car couldn’t even get past the McLaren on soft tyres and with DRS. That’s shockingly bad.

Couldn't believe mclaren held off Hamilton.. On hard tyres, was sure mclaren had blown it.

I'm actually not that it a norris fan. He's a great driver. But I'm not so keen on him. Not sure why.

But I think mclaren have the best line up.
Piastri is a rookie and is doing well. So much better than the rest. And a lot better than many non rookies.
Norris is great too. Zak seems lovely.

Wait a minute.. Why do I support alpine? They have none of this!

Hope mclaren do well.

I wouldn't be massively surprised if Red Bull win every race this season. And if they do, i can honestly see them keeping Perez as why rock the boat with someone who would be faster but tangle with Max?
