Oh. Ocon was told to box, and did what he was told. Went down the pit lane and there was only mechanic in the pit lane so had to go round again. Didn't miss his pit box at all...

Leclerc's post race radio (AI transcript... so may not be right)

Pit - Charles, you did your job. Okay, thank you.

leclerc - Yeah yeah yeah yeah. I did my job. But being nice *fornicates* me over all the *fornicating* time. It's not even being nice. It's just being respectful. I know I need to shut up, but at one point it's always the same, so... Oh my *fornicating* god.

Pit - Okay, but anyway, you did the right thing for the team

Red Bull have been a little fortunate that no other team has challenged them consistently across the season; Maclaren, Ferrari and Merc have all had the best car (on the day) at some point, but they've just taken points off each other and steadily let Red Bull get away.

Impressive year from Max in a weeker car than he has had previously and while Perez hasn't ever held Max up, he's hardly been a dependable wingman taking points off the opposition so he's had to do it on his own.

Oh well. So is it worth watching a rerun of the race, or highlights? Or neither? :p

The only good thing is that out of all the other teams Ferrari seem to be the most consistently fast now. Bodes well for next season maybe?

RB extremely lucky the other three teams just chipped points off each for the second half of this season. If someone in a Ferrari for example was consistently fast then the game would have been afoot.

Great to have the WDC decided on a crap new street circuit creaking under the weight of money and corporate gree- I mean hospitality, at a time where most European F1 fans wouldn’t have watched it live anyway :p

Oh, does that mean no JB or Danica for next year?
Hopefully no Danica. She’s a Trump supporting nutjob and shouldn’t be allowed on our TV.

Why? What did Russell do this weekend, NOT to deserve the win?

I think you've misunderstood what I meant to say. Lewis was the faster driver this weekend. He was faster in Q1 and Q2 and then he borked it up completely whereas Russell didn't stuff up and then drove a flawless race so he deserves the win. When I say "should" I mean Lewis had the pace and he blew it in Q3. That's got to frustrate him, for all that he was able to mount a brilliant recovery from P10 to P2 in the race.

It was a good race. Plenty happening throughout - apart from in the very lead. Not a classic, by any means, but an enjoyable race.

You can't ban people from the screen for sharing the political opinions of the plurality of American voters.

was an ok race, looked like Perez sent in a replacement driver this race but how in all hell did ferrari and sainz escape a blatant penalty

I thought Perez was pretty ordinary. Sure, he had places to make up, but in that car he should have picked up more than 10th, and he was still half a lap off Max at the end. Yuki surely making a good case to be his replacement for next year, finishing a second ahead in a slower car.

Why would Sainz and Ferrari have a penalty? What did I miss?
